The Series 8 characters included a new warrior thief, a sorceress with eyes on Lord Fear's estate, and a new red dragon.
Treguard, the Dungeon Master
Treguard is very engaged during the final series and works more cooperatively with the genie.
Majida, the Genie
Now in her second season, Majida is eager to assist and is fully behind the players from the start.
Lord Fear
Lord Fear returns in a futuristic tower called Marblehead. He engages in a mix of lighter and darker plots this year.
Lissard
Lissard earns Lord Fear's trust to take forward his own schemes and carry them out from their headquarters.
Stiletta, the Warrior Thief
Stiletta was proficient with knives and in cracking codes. She raids Lord Fear's palaces for valuables.
Maldame
Dubbed the 'Iron Maiden', the sanctimonious Maldame let nothing get in her way – not least Lord Fear.
Honesty Bartram
A dealer in second-hand charms and potions. Bartram would sell just about anything for gold or silver.
Snapper-Jack, the Fool Taker
Snapper-Jack becomes the new knowledge test. Teams had to get two of his riddles correct to survive.
Sylvester Hands
In his fourth year, Sly remains a target for Fear's frustration. He has little chance against the superior Stiletta.
Hordriss the Confuser
The veteran mage shows considerable power but is easily fooled by traps. Plays an epic role in the final episode.
Sidriss (the Confused)
Sidriss again proved to be a liability and vulnerable to Opposition schemes. She almost falls to Snapper-Jack.
Raptor
Lord Fear's captain roamed with Miremen in Series 8 - though they are more of a threat without him.
Brother Strange
This mysterious travelling friar exchanged information for new proverbs to add to his collection.
Motley, the Jester
The long-serving jester returned after a year's absence to be a cheerful - if limited - source of help.
Rothberry the Apothecary
Rothberry returned to provide comic relief with his homemade wares, which included a flying potion.
Smirkenorff the Dragon
Smirkenorff did not fly dungeoneers this year. Teams might encounter him asleep in a lair in Level 1.
Bhal-Shebah
A red dragon with two personalities. It was later mindwiped and renamed Firestorm of Marblehead.
