There was one winning team in Series 5. Team 4 retrieved the Shield, completing their quest in 63 minutes.
Team 4: Ben, John, Ray and Jonathan from Exeter
The team has received two spells from Hordriss the Confuser: FIRE and FREEZE.
See the team's progress so far.
In the next chamber, Ben encounters the sorceress, Aesandre. She has been asked by Lord Fear to end the quest.
You must of course fight fire with fire. Come, dungeoneer. Do your worst, or perhaps your best!
As she prepares to strike, the team spell-casts FREEZE to defeat her.
Ben arrives on a platform. A large moat stands between him and Knightmare Castle.
His final challenge is to create a path by solving a large floor puzzle of shapes and Roman numerals.
The calculations are not difficult, but the mechanics of the puzzle are slow, which drains life force.
As the team reaches halfway, the Shield appears inside a block of ice.
The team spell-casts FIRE to release it.
The shot moves closer in, so the team can identify the markings for the second half of the puzzle.
Life force becomes critical, but the castle door is beckoning...
Winners
A fanfare sounds as Ben arrives back into the antechamber.
Treguard: "Well done, Ben! I think we've got something to exchange.
Pickle hands over a frightknight trophy for the team to share.
- Treguard: "Three to one Pickle."
- Pickle: "And one in the eye for the Opposition, master."
- Treguard: "Well, there's only one more thing for it. Spellcasting HEROES!"
The team is dismissed as winners.
- Treguard: "I told you the tide is turning. The Opposition is definitely on the run."
- Pickle: "Can we be sure, master? Lord Fear isn't exactly famous for retreating!"
Treguard summons the next team.
