Fireball Alley, a puzzle in Series 8 (1994).

Fireball Alley

By Keith McDonald

A sequencing puzzle that caused a fair degree of panic among teams in Series 8 of Knightmare.

Teams enter this room close to the left wall. The dungeoneer must be guided through a sequence of fireballs to exit through an opening in the right wall.

Fireballs pass through a series of ducts at the top of the room and fire in a straight line to the bottom. They shoot in sequence from left to right.

As a further hazard, the fireballs could be made faster or slower by magic. Some of the older teams later in the series were also chased by goblins.

The puzzle also contained a hidden short-cut to Level 3. Team 6 use Stiletta's magic to reveal a doorway in the centre wall between two of the ducts.

Keep to the left hand until you work out how to get across.
