The Boatman

By Keith McDonald

A sinister boatman takes dungeoneers across the Dunswater to the Tower of Time and Level 3.

The boatman was a hooded figure ostensibly based on Charon from Greek Mythology.

He rowed dungeoneers to Level 3 for a fare of silver and/or gold.

Deep is the Dunswater, and cold. The fare for the crossing is silver or gold.

In Series 4, the boatman took dungeoneers from the outskirts of Dunkley Wood across the Dunswater to the Tower of Time.

In Series 5, he takes the dungeoneer across the lake in Level 1. This journey is free as the team do not have a method of payment.

The sinister figure said nothing except to request payment at the Dunswater's edge. He grunts whenever he is asked anything else.
