Marta, the Tavern Maid

Marta was a tavern maid at Knightmare's inn, the Crazed Heifer. A useful source of gossip and information.


Marta was a flirtatious serving maid who replaced Motley and Ridolfo as host at Knightmare's tavern.

She served food and exchanged useful information or spyglasses for gems and similar valuables.

Marta

Marta the Tavern Maid, played by Jacquelin Joyce in Series 7 of Knightmare (1993).

Outside of the tavern, Marta got herself into some unfortunate scrapes.

Like Fidjit, she found herself the victim of Sidriss's magical mistakes. Sidriss accidentally turns Marta into a cat. When she tries to reverse the spell, Marta turns into a dog.

Marta also gets captured and locked in a box because she knows the combination to the Trial by Spikes.

Masquermaide

A challenge for Marta is keeping the male characters in check. During one quest, she must deal with Hands disguised as a minstrel.

By the end of the series, Hordriss the Confuser had become besotted with Marta.

To exploit this, Lord Fear turns his seneschal Lissard into a replica of Marta - but he can't resist asking the new-look henchman on a date first.

This narrow bridge is set above a deep ravine. It is often guarded, and is a favourite spot for Mogdred to persecute dungeoneers.
