Knightmare chess
Does Knightmare chess have anything to do with Knightmare? Or has the name been copied?

Re:Knightmare chess
Hi! There's no relation between the two of them, as far as I know.
Subject to change.

Re:Knightmare chess
I believe if I remember correctly, that this has been brought up before. (Will do a search)
Edit: I think this is the thread, but may be wrong which I have a feeling I am http://www.knightmare.com/forum/http:// ... 95#msg7795

Re:Knightmare chess
The knight/night pun is simple yet effective, so it's no surprise that it should turn up in several unrelated places.
One of the best uses of it I've come across is a joke in which a member of the Round Table needs to make a journey, even though it's dark and stormy outside. He doesn't have access to a horse, only a large dog. But the dog's owner says, "A knight can't go out on a dog like this!"
Musing on the concept of a Knightmare chess set:
Powers That Be
King: Treguard
Queen: Mrs. Grimwold
Bishops: Brother Mace, Cedric
Knights: Motley, Pickle
Rooks: Merlin, Hordriss
Pawns: Dungeoneers
Opposition
King: Lord Fear
Queen: Morghanna
Bishops: Skarkill, Hands
Knights: Fatilla, Olaf
Rooks: Mogdred, Malice
Pawns: Goblins
Alternative suggestions welcome.

Re:Knightmare chess
I do remember a long long time ago suggesting something about a Knightmare Chess set, when I was coming up with a couple of 'bright' ideas. Can't remember if I suggested anything about pieces though!

Re:Knightmare chess
I would include Lillith as a Queen...but I have no idea which side she'd be on.
You could almost make a third 'grey' team, one composed of neutral characters who pledged allegiance to no-one.

It was indeed discussed in times gone by: http://www.knightmare.com/forum/http:// ... readid=354Moana Liza wrote: I do remember a long long time ago suggesting something about a Knightmare Chess set, when I was coming up with a couple of 'bright' ideas. My suggestions would be:
Powers that be:
King: Treguard
Queen: Greystagg
Bishops: Brother Mace, Brother Strange (even though he's neutral)
Knights: Sir Hugh De Witless, Pickle
Rooks: Gwendoline, Motley
Pawns: Dungeoneers
Opposition:
King: Lord Fear
Queen: Lissard (after a quick sex change)
Bishops: Skarkill, Slyvester Hands
Knights: Fatilla, Mogdred
Rooks: Malice, Blockers
Pawns: Goblins

Re:Knightmare chess
Surely coming up with a Knightmare chess variant would be more interesting than coming up with a Knightmare chess set.
And no, I have no clue where you'd start with that either.
