Re: Press release photo
Haven't watched that one yet XD
But come to think of it, Doug normally seems to love really old game shows, so maybe if he (hopefully) sees KM one day, he'll give it a good review

Re: Press release photo
I just pm'd Doug Walker (Nostalgia critic and owner of thatguywiththeglasses site) on the km revival and asked if he might do a review of this if he's seen it before or gets interested after I sent him those clips of it and said what the show was about, if he knows about it then km has a much bigger chance of getting even more views through him alone, nothing from spoonyone yet but I hope I get a reply soon from either of them, worth a try.

New Knightmare 2013: thoughts so far
To quote a certain Barry Thorne: blimey.
First, well done to all the Knightmare fans who have kept the faith and trusted that this time would come. Although my conviction has wavered over the years, I'm pleased I have this post to look back on. In my own little ways, I have tried to keep the fire burning, as have others here. If it's helped, so much the better.
By the way, the Knightmare.com article and tweet referred to Knighmare. Leaving out the t is a dangerous precedent: if you're not careful, you'll have Dungeon advenurers wandering around in search of a shor cu o Level Hree.
I'm impressed by the logistics that have gone into Series 9 Episode 1(dare I call it that?). Simply to find mutually convenient dates, they would have had consider each of the actors' availabilities (Mark Knight living abroad, Cliff Barry with an imminent Edinburgh show), the Knightmare Live Helmet of Justice's availability, studio hire and goodness knows what other factors. That is an achievement, whatever the end result.
And just for the record, however YouTube chooses to bracket Knightmare, I don't see it as only for geeks. It was widely watched mainstream kids' TV with adult appeal, and if its audience seems more specialised these days, arguably it's only because the average adult's life is more complicated than that of a child at Friday teatime. I suppose I am uncertain of the term geek and whether or not it's pejorative. I'm not the only person with concerns along these lines.
Mark Knight's now been credited (on digitalspy and elsewhere) with leaking a photo from the set, even though he was only passing one on that had already been tweeted. Quite ironic because, as I understood it from Pickle, the Opposition isn't exactly famous for retweeting.
The pessimist in me is thinking: it could all be over by late September. Knightmare Live finished, Knightmare repeats off Challenge, Knightmare Series 9 Episode 1 buried among the social media ephemera. The optimist in me hopes that if we've come this far, enough momentum can be built up for great Knightmare things to continue happening. There's still one big piece of the quest object to be redeemed, and it's the piece with the letters 'DVD' carved on it. Let's see what happens.

It depends on how it's said. It terms of tone, there's a fine line between "More will be revealed, but not yet" (which is how I read Alan's posts) and "I know something you don't knooow". The latter can come across as less than community spirited.pjmlfc05 wrote:It is actually!HobGoblin wrote:"I know but I can't say anything" - what a cruel thing to post!
The press release photo, or at least the Hugo Myatt part of it: I wonder if it was taken around the same time as Hugo reprised Treguard for Dick & Dom in Da Bungalow in 2004? The hairstyle and costume are consistent.Insider wrote:
The picture of Treguard, is that circa Series 8?

It brings to mind the memorable phrase he used in an old interview with regard to playing Lord Fear again.Canadanne wrote:I am loving that Mark Knight is loving this!

By my calculations the Challenge repeats should last until mid-October, and I expect they'll show the whole lot again soon afterwards, perhaps in a different timeslot where other viewers might discover it. And hopefully Knightmare Live will tour the country!Drassil wrote:The pessimist in me is thinking: it could all be over by late September. I, too, have been thinking that if a DVD release is ever going to happen, now would be a good time...Drassil wrote:The optimist in me hopes that if we've come this far, enough momentum can be built up for great Knightmare things to continue happening. Oh yes! If there is a time to do it, it's now. There will never be another time or better opportunity for this to come to life. Time for another campaign maybe?!Drassil wrote: I, too, have been thinking that if a DVD release is ever going to happen, now would be a good time...

Re: Press release photo
Re a DVD release: as much as I would personally love a box set it seems a little late in the day to be dreaming of a physical format release. An iTunes release is perhaps more likely/feasible (certainly cheaper)? Or even a legit KM channel on YT (as google seem to like the show)...
I'm an old fashioned sort myself and would love deluxe packaging and shiny discs, but the world is moving on.
One never knows though!

Re: Press release photo
Keep Doug Walker away from knightmare. That's one DIY youtube hack I have seen and I can't be doing with him screaming down a mic for a few minutes about subjects he knows nothing about. That's the negative with youtube, anyone can upload videos and everything thinks the rest of the world cares.
I think KM falls under 'geek week' quite nicely,

In fact Challenge have just confirmed this prediction, saying it "will play in tea time soon"!Canadanne wrote:By my calculations the Challenge repeats should last until mid-October, and I expect they'll show the whole lot again soon afterwards, perhaps in a different timeslot where other viewers might discover it.

I don't expect they'll move it until the current run is complete.wombstar wrote:Challenge better NOT move the time slot to an early one, other wise I wont be able to watch anymore Not all of us finish work at 5pm.

Re: Press release photo
It is 5th August! It's just that I'm going to Liverpool for a few days the start of August and won't get back until the 7th. So I won't get a chance to see the episode until then!Canadanne wrote:Where did you hear that?
