I have the novelisation of Hook too. :)
And I wasn't keen on the Addams Family film either - it lacked all the warmth of the TV series which I'd enjoyed on BBC2. (I haven't seen it since, so I've no idea how I would evaluate it as an adult, and admittedly I don't know which adaptation is more faithful to the source material.)
I'm with Martin O on the pronunciation, it's St BERnard unless you're American! (And I haven't heard it said otherwise in all my years of watching Crufts, either...)

Re: Temporal Discussion, A KM podcast
I'm glad we're back to "normal" episodes now, and I have the first five episodes of Series 6 ready and scheduled for release. I'm currently editing a new TimeBusters special that will come directly after those.

Whilst some of the criticism in S06E01 is fair (and some is just a matter of opinion), Smirkenorff never flies in a circle in Series 6 - he always takes off from his nesting ledge (Paviland Cliff on the Gower) before landing at one of the castles elsewhere in Wales.

Re: Temporal Discussion, A KM podcast
You know, I was seriously wondering whether I should include that thing about Smirkenorff going in a circle because I wasn't sure it ever really happened as a single continuous flight except for that one sequence in Series 5, but I'd already junked so much material that I knew to be inaccurate, I thought I'd better give this one the benefit of the (my) doubt. I'll make sure this gets mentioned on a future episode.
In the next episode I appeal to you specifically for your thoughts on something, Annie, so I hope you'll have some insights that can also be mentioned on the podcast in the near future. (I won't spoil the surprise now.)
I must admit to feeling a twinge of disappointment at how much Series 6 has been absolutely savaged on the recordings so far, but perhaps this will encourage me not to speak too scathingly about Series 7 and 8 when the time comes. Listen out for Amy on Episode 4 if you're looking forward to a touch of sunshine in the forecast.

I mean, it's possible that the helicopter took off from Llansteffan before filming the landing sequence there (I don't think we can tell one way or the other), but it's certainly not like in Series 5 when Smirky would visibly start and end the flight at Carreg Cennen Castle!TheOldenDays wrote: Yesterday, 10:54 You know, I was seriously wondering whether I should include that thing about Smirkenorff going in a circle because I wasn't sure it ever really happened as a single continuous flight except for that one sequence in Series 5, but I'd already junked so much material that I knew to be inaccurate, I thought I'd better give this one the benefit of the (my) doubt. Well, that's got me intrigued for the next ep. :)
Series 6 is my favourite so I was quite looking forward to the podcast finally getting there, and I too was disappointed to hear all three hosts complaining about just about everything so far, but oh well!
