Wow!! It's amazing that this will happen! Saying that, it's a huge ask to raise the amount you have stated.

May I ask, I have no idea if I can make this, but will there still be tickets available after the campaign has finished? Or do you need to purchase one before the deadline expires?

The convention will only happen if the £12,000 is raised in the deadline.

Depending on what perks people buy, there may or may not be tickets available after the campaign. If there are tickets available, however, they will be sold at a higher price.

Of course, unless enough tickets are sold, the convention won't happen at all.

I contributed £15 yesterday - all I had to spare. I'll post a much bigger amount on my payday, which is in ten days.

The total is currently £250 after 24 hours. Sorry to sound pessimistic, but there will need to be a much higher rate of contributions to hit the target in 20 days.

As with most of these things, many people will wait until the last possible minute before contributing.

There are three common reasons why people don't pledge:

1) People think they are making a donation rather than a pledge. That is, they don't realise that, if the funding target isn't met, they get their money back.

2) People wait until the last minute.

3) Often in combination with the above two points, people see how far away we are from the target and then don't bother pledging because "there's no point".

As I keep saying, there are easily enough interested people for this event to happen. It just needs people to pledge. I note that most people on the forums haven't yet pledged, so it would be nice to see this from some more of the hardcore fans

There's another reason- money!! Would love to donate but haven't really got the money to do so right now. I still hope this happens and if I do get a some spare cash I will make a pledge!

I've made a donation although I won't be able to attend as my second child is due on 10 June so I daren't risk being 250 miles from home at eight months pregnant (especially as my first child was early!). Good luck to you all though - it sounds a fantastic event!

It would be a real shame if this falls apart like the DVD campaign, simply because people weren't pushing.

I often wonder why people don't start promoting theses campaigns months before they go live, get the word out early, give people an advanced warning. That's what they did with Morph, they had a good month of promotion with a going live countdown for the kicktarter project. (I love morph)

I'm afraid I might not be bale to pledge this time, March and April is when I pay out all my overheads and have very little spare cash.. but i'll see what happens closer too the deadline, be a pity to let this pass by.

People don't do it that way because venues are only willing to offer dates a certain amount of time in advance and then they want you to commit to that date as quickly as possible.

Anyway I do hope this challenging project kicks off, £12,000 isn't a big target, I like to think there would be plenty of people buying tickets and getting involved once it officially gets the green light. >

I know a handful of people who be up for coming up, but not likely to pledge in advance unfortunately.

As I've already said, if they don't pledge it is almost CERTAIN that they won't get in.

There are 700 tickets maximum. We need to sell almost all of them to have the money in order to run the event. Hence, if we can run the event, we'll have almost sold out of tickets.

No idea what the room will be.
