This is happening this weekend (18th-19th Feb) - we're still taking bookings right up until the day where people can turn up on the door if they like (they must pay an extra donation of £1, though ;))

Come, bring any character you like, roleplay, play games, eat, drink, be merry, all for charity...and join the 27 who are already queuing ;D

LARP Aid 2008

Post by Emii » Sat Dec 15, 2007 9:59 pm

Hi guys, I know I post about this every year... so yeah. Here I am again (with admin permission, naturally!) :)

LARP Aid, for those of you that don't know, is a charity roleplay event held in Aberystwyth every year, each time for a new charity. It costs a maximum of £15 to attend, and around £2 of this covers your food, accommodation, insurance and participation - the rest goes to the charity.

Ther plot is that warriors from different worlds are plucked away to take part in a huge tournament to win the title of Warrior of the Worlds. If you aren't into the combat side of things, there is also ongoing plot and events for spectators. As this covers most genres, if you wanted to play a Knightmare character or original character, you would be most welcome! Last year we had several newcomers that had never tried Live Action Roleplay before, so do not feel you need to know everything about the hobby to come along.

There are also activities such as an auction, quizzes, cardgames and wargames to keep you all busy.

The event dates are 1-2 March, at Brynamlwg, Penglais, Aberystwyth. All welcome, and even though the main event is a LARP tournament there will be other stuff going on too. More details to follow.

We're currently voting for the charity to fundraise for with this year's LARP Aid. Last year we raised over £1000, and the event was great fun. As usual, we're hoping to make it bigger and better again.

If you want to vote, the link is here: http://www.aber-warps.co.uk/cgi-bin/yab ... num=119732 4796

If you are interested in coming or helping in some way, keep an eye on here: http://www.larpaid.org.uk/

I don't mind answering questions too, so please shout up if you want to know more!

Forms are ready to be filled out, should you wish to attend - it looks like the charity of choice this year is likely to be the Welsh Air Ambulance.
