Re:Bribes

Don't you think bribe-scenes in Knightmare are just completely implausible? You know the scenario, Gumboil or Olaf or Fatilla or Skarkill are stood on a cavern ledge or between the dungeoneer and a wellway. The dungeoneer doesn't have a password so he offers them a bar of gold or a ruby, which the ...

He had a so-called hot date with Lillith, in her rocky domain, and wanted to win her affections by conjuring up a homely yet tasty dessert. Unfortunately, when he tried to invoke an apple pie, he became tongue-tied and...

Re:KM Universe - cartographers needed

In fact, Knightmare's explicitly shifting geography makes it far from ideal for mapping. (Not just across series, but within: for example, I doubt that there was consistency in the areas Smirkenorff flew over to get from A to B in Series 5.) ...I must admit, when I first heard of this idea I though...

Re:SOMETHING STIRS

Very intriguing :) Obviously it'll be Knightmare-related I presume? DVD release? Repeats on ITV in same time slot? (How nostalgic would that be???) I hope the new Knightmare VM or whatever it was called hasn't been commisioned, lol. My guess, all along, has been either there are talks about Timegat...

Re:Positive things about Series 8

I suppose there is a fine balance in Knightmare when it comes to artwork and CGI graphics. You don't want too much CGI (See KmVR!) And too much artwork (although good in its time) simply gets too boring after a few years. Suggesting why they probably expanded their horizon in Series 4 The trouble w...

It's hard to imagine either incidental music not being used on any modern non-live production, or incidental music being used on any live non-scripted production. Re:Positive things about Series 8

Most of the gameplay concepts of Series 8 were good, I feel, and I definitely preferred the CGI dungeon to the color-adjusted photos of castles. Plus, Motley's return was very welcome indeed. The main issue with S8 (and I know that this is a positive thread but thinking about why all the good thing...

So... Would you say the map should be four or five dimensional, then? :P

Re:Channel 4 to invest in Kids TV

Maybe if Countdown gets scraped (which it probably will after a series with the new presenters) I doubt that, actually. It's remarkably hard to fail in the 2:30 slot it's being moved to, since the expectations for that slot are so low. Deal or No Deal will be moved to the Countdown slot and then th...

Re:Channel 4 to invest in Kids TV

CBBC and CITV's pre-4:00 programs, iirc, were/are aimed at the under 7s. Generally, as you went through the afternoon, the programs were aimed older. In fact, the 3:15-3:30 slot on CITV, iirc, was pretty much pre-school.

Transformation - Maybe it was intended to turn a worthless artefact into the quest object? But - ...Maybe it was as in the Scottish use of the term for a front or outer room, or a kitchen especially in a cottage? Shovel (Or was it Spade?) - *clonk*, like Anvil. Medal - Make her move faster, like a m...

Re:FAV ROOMS IN SERIES(ANY SERIES)

From memories of the series on the original run - Probably a tie between the pendulum room which was used a grand total of once, the Fright Night teleporter puzzle from I forget the season, and the Corridor of Blades from many seasons. From rewatching the series? Almost undoubtedly the block and Tac...

Re:An American Reviews Knightmare

About a third of the way through (the buffering is being slow), just after the movie clip. Very entertaining, even if there are some factual inaccuracies (Apparantly it was a BBC series, for example), but would be improved by being done by Brooker. (And, yeah, somehow when you said 'a certificate 15...

Pointless but cool things you wish had been done but weren't

Just was thinking while playing with a few dice that it would have been cool if there were six animations for the dice-room, so that the actually rolled number corresponded to the number rolled on the computer animated die, maybe with that number corresponding to the amount of doors in the opened up...

Re:Channel 4 to invest in Kids TV

I've heard that the kids stuff starts in 2009!! As Richard and Judy have gone and Countdown will probably go next year, a afternoon slot looks likely! What, and move the afternoon behemoth which is Deal or No Deal? More seriously, the 3:30 Countdown slot is inappropriate for a teen slot, since teen...
