Re:The Joys of Knightmare

Good point, well made. I can't bring myself to tick just one of Casper's boxes though.

Re:Bring Knightmare back, the original, not like VR...

Knightmare's makers prided themselves on their pioneering work. Doing exactly what has been done before wouldn't be the cutting-edge stuff it once was, even if it is excellent. As it is, Knightmare is continuing its history of pioneering, never-done-before content, and surely that is a great thing. ...

Re:Viewers

If only 6 million were watching it on Challenge now. There might be a quicker answer as to whether KMVR gets commissioned.

Re:OUTside enviroment

At the time series four first aired, I found it incredibly exciting that the dungeoneer would leave the confines of the dungeon for the first time, but the novelty soon wore off. By the time series five brought back (and even concentrated on) the outside environment I began to yearn for a classic du...

Re:Knightmare ratings - official figure

The changes in the ratings seem very strange indeed. You'd have thought the 'cliffhanger' aspect of KM might keep a regular audience tuning in. Perhaps because it is shown frequently viewers just dip into it, rather than avidly watch every episode.

Re:KNIGHTMARE VR

I for one am considering the developing Knightmare series to be series 9. Sure, it's the beginning of a new era in KM's history, with marked changes (sight being one of them), but I don't think it will be completely independant of the original. From what I've seen, the general principals of the orig...

Ellie Encounter Clip

Er, has anyone else noticed that a fifth clip has been added to the Televirtual bulletin board? If this has already got a thread somewhere, then sorry about this one!

Re:The series that scared you the most

I can't remember exactly how scary series 2 was, so until Thursday, I'm saying series 4. I thought the level three's of this series were terrifying in many places, particularly the Mogdred/other baddie scenes. And Ariadne chills the blood too!

Re:Dragon or Mine-cart?

That idea struck me too! Yeah, the return of a new improved mine-cart would be really cool. The superior capabilities of the new Knightmare system could pull off something really special.

A better version of the descender might also work - perhaps something like a cable-car?

Dragon or Mine-cart?

So, what method of travelling to different levels do people here prefer? There is the Descender, the mine-cart from series 3 (this was a great one!), trap-doors, the mighty Smirkenorf (I liked this, but thought the travelling sequence took too long). Or like myself, do you prefer a good old-fashione...

Re:Series 9

I really hope it isn't on every day. I don't think it would have enough mass appeal to be shown daily - despite its quality. A daily showing might kill it, for two reasons: 1) Over-showing could make the audience grow tired of it, as you say. 2) Daily live shows might seem hurriedly put together, ma...

Yeah I know Hugo is rumoured to be coming back. I listed him as an example of what might upset Knightmare fans if changed.

Re:Knew KM VR Pictures

At the end of the day, Knightmare has to evolve. There are loads of things that Knightmare 'isn't going to be Knightmare' without: Same theme tune, original life-force, original helmet, Treguard, three advisors, death-knells, corridor of blades etc, etc. No doubt many of these aspects will be droppe...

Re:Knew KM VR Pictures

I don't mind that a dungeoneer will be able to see, it's a necessity. But a helmet in a similar style to the original (horns) that allows the victim to see would be a nice touch, and would be in-keeping with a retro appearance.

Re:grrrrrr 5am

You'll probably have to wait until November for a repeat.
I prefer the late version as it's the most blemish free - no voice over and no 'next - Takeshi's castle'.
