Knightmare Games

Post by Fidjit »

;) Why don't they bring KNIGHTMARE out on PC-CD? Wouldn't that be great to play it at home, in the comfort of your favourite chair and guide a virtual reality dungeoneer around rooms and stuff.
If the only way is onward how would you get home for tea?? :-/

A nice idea, but it wouldn't really work that well because Knightmare relies on the fact that you don't have direct control over the dungeoneer. Turning it in to an action/adventure game might work, though. I keep on saying that I could attempt it in MMFusion, but no one seems very interested and I'm not that good when it comes to graphics.

At the moment, the nearest thing we have to it is http://www.knightmare.com/forum/yabb/Ya ... 1046465681

Hi guys

Mindscape did bring out a Knightmare game for the amiga in 1992 (the demo is on this site) its a pretty cool game even if its not totally accurate to the show.

If u have an emulator go to http://sega32.sitemynet.com/amiga/
the FULL VERSION of the game is available as a zip file containing the 2 discs in .ADZ format (just use them like u would any other disc on the emulator)

Hope you guys have fun with it

I believe that TeleVirtual eventually hope to have their virtual worlds (from TimeGate and Knightmare) online for everyone to explore. They hope to have complete interactivity.

For the first time ever, we'd be able to explore the actual dungeon!  :)

That sounds cool, although im beginning to wonder if this new dungeon will have the same level of interactivity as the old one.

the Person-Person dialogues from the old days (eg motley and dungeoneer) might be hard to recreate dispite the new technologies.

Well i'm sure we'll find out soon enough, any1 heard any release dates from televirtual?

I would say that with the advancement in graphics power as displayed by vendors ATI and NVIDIA it would be confident to create a revamped version of the gameshow itself.

I purchased the original knightmare game that was released some time ago where you control the dungeoneer through the dungeons and it was not impressive due to the advancements not present at that time.  Now its mainstream im sure there can be a game written with high graphical content similar to the gameshow.

I just wonder if it will ever happen...

I do remember those pc games where youd command yourself going to places, NOVA, as example, completing missions.

This would be an accurate attempt replicate the game show.

Obviously it would be very difficult to emulate the tv version of the game.

Any ideas out there as to a possible format???

Until a new series happened and was successful, they just couldn't be confident enough there's a market for it.

Sadly true. I think that if half way through a S10 it became clear how successful Knightmare was, then it might happen - but with the Internet option of exploration i couldn't be sure.

On the subject of Knightmare Games, I have finally passed the second dungeon on Knightmare for the Spectrum!

It only took me 14 years!!!!
