Re: The Dunshelm Players: Famous For Retreating
Happy New Year, ladies, gents and technomancers. As usual, we have a non-festive festive offering for you all this year. If you go to the Famous For Retreating page - https://dunshelmplayers.wordpress.com/dramas/famous-for-retreating/ - you will find it looks slightly different. The aforementioned '...

Re: Characters you wish they had played
I think Cliff Barry would have done a useful job playing an ambiguous/neutral figure. He made Lissard very sinister and even mysterious, and I sometimes think that was kind of wasted, because, hey, he's Lord Fear's seneschal, it's pretty easy to figure out whose side he'll be on. When he played Brot...

Re: Series 1 Appreciation Week
For all of its early teething problems, season 1 remains historic television, and comparisons with later seasons can be a little unfair. It has to be acknowledged that season 1 is where some of the best dungeon chambers and locations made their debuts. I would certainly put most of the 'architecture...

Re: Knightmare Geek Week Extended Episode
Recalling when Televirtual were trying to create TimeGate , most KM fans seemed eager about the idea, and it was a substantial change of format from Knightmare . Opposition to a format change on principle will probably be quite small. Objections are more likely to be based on whether the changes are...

Re: Knightmare Geek Week Extended Episode
Isn't it interesting - dare I say hopeful - that it's titled Knightmare Pilot, given what pilot episodes are usually used for...?

Re: Knightmare Geek Week Extended Episode
Another interesting development is the notorious "Did-she-or-didn't-she-swear?" moment. The sound-field seems to have been adjusted so Isy's voice comes through more clearly, and there is now no doubt at all that she says, "heck".

Re: Knightmare Geek Week Extended Episode
Certainly glad they trimmed down the opening scene quite a lot. Still not a fan of it, but it's a lot less irritating now. They also seem to have changed the voice treatments on some of the level 2 scenes - neither good nor bad, that, just an observation.

No, Stuart's team did say yes to Mogdred's offer. It was Leo's team in season 3 who were given the GLORY spell without getting a chance to refuse.

Re: Series 3 - Episode 3
Disagreed. The reason McGrew's pleas were unintelligible was that the advisors were talking over him. Admittedly, the silly music didn't help either, but it was quite clear that the advisors were not going to make any attempt to listen to him anyway.

Re: Series 3 - Episode 4
n the room when Hordriss appears, does one of the advisors swear? The one in the middle I think, uses a modification of the word fork Yep. About 4m 15 seconds in, the kid in the middle mutters, "F*ck!" when the directions he's giving go wrong, then puts a hand over his mouth and glances u...

Re: Knightmare memes
Hmm, all the above pix have vanished.
Anyway, this one is still a joke, but it does raise a semi-serious point about TV in the 1980's. It probably wasn't for the best that this scene gave the impression that sexual harassment is 'just a laugh'.

Re: Series 8
In The Forest Of The Night really offended my intelligence. The science in it was so appallingly hashed - especially the utter b*ll*cks about oxygen deflecting the solar winds when it is the Earth's magnetic field that does that - that I wanted to throw the TV out of the window. Then I realised tha...

McCoy was also a semi-regular on Eureka, which was a sort of cross between Tomorrow's World and a Krankies-style sketch show. He often had to dress up in that, as I remember, so that's possible.
