Favourite computer games

Post by Drassil »

What might the favourite computer games of Knightmare characters be? Here are a few I thought of:

Bhal-Shebah - Double Dragon

Olaf - Dizzy (a game about an egg is apt for a man who wanted to 'time his eggs to perfection' in Series 2)

Ridolfo - Super Mario

Mr. Grimwold - Pac-Man

Simon from Series 4 - Tetris (games about blocks and falling are right up his street)

Smirkenorff - Wyrms (deliberate typo there!)
Knightmare: Kid-worthy, Naasty, Inspiring, Groundbreaking, Humorous, Treguard, Mesmerising, Adult-worthy, Rewarding, Essential.

The mine-cart - Sega Rally ('Think off the rails....')

Catcombite - 'King of Monsters'

Any advisor - Space Channel 5 ("step-left, step RIGHT! ,bong, bong, bong")

The Descender - Metal Gear Solid

Corridor of Blades - ummmmmmm.... 'Robot Wars'?

The Dreaded Kha - Cobra Command

Gundrada - Mortal Kombat

Dwarves - Boulderdash

Treguard / Lord Fear - Dungeon Keeper.... ;)

Smirkenorf - Commanche 4 (Or indeed ANY helicopter sim....)
There are but 2 rules in this realm:-
1) He who sees first is the winner...
2) He who is seen first is toast...

A few of these are going back quite a bit... for some reason, I just can't seem to think of many modern games which fit.

Treguard: Dungeon Master
Merlin (especially as far as Team 4 of S1 were concerned): Heavy on the Magick
Bumptious: Manic Miner
Ridolfo: The Bard's Tale
Stiletta (and Sylvester Hands): Thief
Lord Fear: F.E.A.R.
Skarkill: Gobliiins
Lissard: Repton
Aesandre: Midwinter, Icewind Dale
The Medusa: Eye of the Beholder
Festus: Shadow of the Beast

Romahna - Duck Hunt
Gwendoline - Captain Planet
Raptor - Sid Meier's Pirates!

And, funily enough, Metal Gear Solid is one of my all time favourite games.

Heh, I seem to recall using the Populous editor to change the standard hand cursor into a Lord Fear hand.. then I turned the people into goblins and made the knight a bit more Frightknightlike. :)

At one point I tried making the standard people look like Frightknights, with a special black Frightknight to be the Hero, but that got very strange very quickly...

*sighs* *wants to play Populous again*
