Knightmare VR music

Post by Darren »

While I was searching around on the internet looking for some knightmare stuff, I happened to come across this:

http://www.madmanmusic.co.uk/music-knightmare.htm

I'm not sure if anyone has found this before, but just incase, I decided to put it here!

I think it has all the music from the pilot

A superb find there. Not quite sure about the quality of the music but it is interesting listen!

I honestly don't like the Knightmare VR music at all, its nothing like the original, sure its 10 years later, and I know the rights to the original theme aren't available anymore, but surely they could have come up with something better than that?!

It sounds more like a rather bad pop song or something people would dance to. It doesn't sound very dungeon like in my opinion.

Those who frequent LiveJournal and KM Chat will be aware of my opinions of the theme tune.

It honestly does sound like someone's having a joke at our expense. It's something that sounds like it's from an episode of Top of the Pops, circa 1969. The original themes told viewers to expect something scary and mystical...this gives the impression of a comedy.

As for "Knightmare, it's a Knightmare", no comment. A show such as Knightmare should NOT, I repeat, NOT have lyrics!

I think it should be more like the original theme, of course it cant be exactly the same, but i'm sure they can make a new theme in the same style

I think you could possibly get away with using that tune if it was lowered an octave or two and slowed down. Atleast I think it would sound better.

*edit as just relistened to it*
Prehaps not but I still think if lowered an octave or two it would sound more 'darker' and 'dungeon' like. It's those high whistling sounds that really don't sound right.

I quite like the style of the music, but then again, it is all the same theme, in the same key, it's just the tempo and the style that's been changed in most cases!

That music is absolutely disgusting. Whoever wrote and composed it has a very obscure perspective on what they were writing music for - it certainly isn't the tacky "Fightbox" BBC2 style programme it's trying to be.

*THWACK!*

Did you hear that? That was the sound of a nail being hit firmly on the head by a huge hammer wielded by BillyH.

I cannot believe I have just allowed my ears to be raped by that spineless tripe.

Seriously, if they want a proper "new" theme tune, there's a handful of bands in Finland that will do the job properly.

In fact, I'm going to nominate Ensiferum who have already done it! It's called "Warrior's Quest", from the Dragonheads EP, and every time I hear it it makes me think how well the opening credits for Knightmare would work as its official video...

All they'd need to do is make an instrumental version about 40-odd seconds, and... bingo!

KMVR theme

Don't know if anyone saved the other clips - the descriptions can still be viewed here.

That was great! If this was set up with a good intro (i.e. clips of some of the quests if the show ever did go to plan) then this would be perfect. For some reason, I can imagine Lord Fear just throwing a fireball at us if an intro like that existed ;D ;D ;D

Here, have all the music.

I hope you'll understand when I reiterate that they're all basically the same song!
