Warning - Manifestation imminent...

Whooo..I am (Ahem) The Floating White Skull...Whooo...

;D

WOW, you should have seen my eyes BUG out of their sockets when I saw the repeats of Knightmare Sunday morning. It was like...well, a dream come true.

For years, I've hummed the theme to myself, just kinda missing the overall 'Fear' of the show that was SOOO very prominent when it was on. Think about it: Where ELSE can you run down a corridor of Saws, ride a  dragons back, cast a few spells, nearly get shish-kebab'ed on a chess board, burned, lasered and STILL have time to complete a quest for the chalice/sword/shield AND defeat the bad guys ALL in one Kickass half hour?

NOWHERE, that's where.

TV's intelligence downward spiral has baffled me for years, as I progressively watch dumb shows like Tellytubbies and Tweenies eat up ratings, time slots, and merchandise undeservedly. Knightmare had 8 Series, a devoted fanbase, a fan club, BOOKS, a board game, heck, even an old C64 game...

NOW it can come back, and it's plain ignorance of ANY TV exec to assume it's gonna fail BECAUSE of the demographics. Current Demographics exist BECAUSE they put crap like Tellytubbies on for the under 10's, and then lose focus of the other age ranges BECAUSE of this. Knightmare was a multi-age program, and had some SERIOUS moral lessons hidden away in there somewhere.

Teamwork, Politeness and to NEVER trust anybody called 'Sly Hands'... ;D

So, WHOOOO, I say, Bring the damned show back - It's a win-win situation.

I thank you all for listening to my jaw-wag...

{Floats around for a while...}

AAAH! The floating white skull!!!

(Pull myself together)

Seriously, that life force sequence used to scare the life out of me when I watched the programme (give me a chance, I was six years old!) You could well be right about the demographics - people are too frightened to try anything different now.

I also noticed how polite the teams were when I was watching old videos this Christmas. Not like kids these days <¦-)

Good topic title as well, every newbie seems to think up a better one than the last. Welcome to the boards.

Hello and well said!

Illusion says a new series might well be aimed at a younger audience but it'd still be streets ahead of the dumbed-down rubbish they usually put out.

In any case, there'd still be lots of room for in jokes!

Km defies any age range really - that's probably why we're all here! As long as the new series has lots of tension and clever ideas I'll be happy!

I may be a newbie...

Hi there, WFS. I hope you're not going to damage our life force too much. Hasn't anyone ever mentioned that it's rude to do so in polite company?

If you must, just hover around in the corner looking menacing. :)

(Winks as effectively as a skull can...)

Will do...

(Hovers by the nearest exit, 'whooo-ing' at anybody who dares come in and out.)

Random voice: That's the broom closet, by the way...
White Floating Skull: Don't spoil the fantasy - it's, uhh, a magical containment room of useful artifacts...yeah, that fits.

(Continues to hover around...uhh, doing stuff.)

It's actually Treguard's closet. With you there, he won't be able to get to his outfit.

Ho hum. He'll just have to wear Majida's dress again. He looks strangely pleased at the prospect.

Yerk, my worst fear realised...

The very thought of Treguard with an avaunt spell is enough to make mah eyesocket's weep profusely. :o

Sorry about that, Skully, didn't mean any offence. "Newbie" can be used as an insult, but I used it to mean a new user, nothing more than that.

(Bounces on head) MOOOOOT...

No need to apologise...you may wanna get a pie to aid that dwindled life force, by the way.  ;D

Apologising is Moot - mmm'kay?

;D

(And my weird rating goes through the roof.)

But I'm sure it's much less scarring than seeing him in Majida's outfit... *shudders*

Hah...Life Force Condition Red...HOWZAT!!!!

As for the 'lordship', well, let's just say that either a big fat bribe OR blackmail regarding a certain video regarding Majida's clothing will suffice.

I'm sure he'll overlook a mere floating apparition - if he wants his closet life to stay 'In the closet', Mwaahaha!!!
