This was awarded to Dickon's winning team in Series 4 by Hordriss, and changed a bottle of poison into a nourishing liquid.

Annie, if you can score 1 or 0, you will join Rosey in the Head-to-Head. If you score 3 or more, Ross will join Rosey in the Head-to-Head. If you score 2, you'll both have to give another spell!

Oh man, I can't believe more people said VISOR than SUN - I was avoiding that one! Well done to Rosey though, I didn't think of GROWME at all.

This is unbearable, I don't know what to doooo! *bites nails* I've got a list of 10 spells and no idea where the risky answers are. Urgh... SLEEP?

This was given to Mark's team by Merlin to deal with the dragon, and it's just earned you a place in the Head-to-Head final, Annie - congratulations! Bad luck, Ross - this round could hardly have been closer, but you're the unlucky one this time. Now, let's see all the answers for that question:

FIRE - 3
FREEZE - 3
FREE - 2
OPPOSITE - 2
RETURN - 2
SPLASH - 2
VISOR - 2
ARKEN - 1
DARK - 1
ENERGY - 1
GRIP - 1
SLEEP - 1
SUN - 1
TALISMAN - 1
TRICK - 1
GROWME - 0
SHADE - 0

Either Rosey or Annie will soon be crowned the Ultimate Knightmare Pointless Champion of 2011. The Head-to-Head final is coming later this evening...

Wow, that was close! Good luck girls in the final.

I'm surprised about Talisman and Trick being on one point - I avoided those as they were quest-winning spells!

Wow! I really thought I was going out there. That was such a close round, and I was considering a couple of those 2-pointers as well, so it might have gone on even longer!

ROUND 4 - HEAD-TO-HEAD FINAL

Whoever wins the best of five head-to-head questions will be our Ultimate Champion. Will it be Rosey or Annie? We'll soon know. The first question, then. We gave 6 people 100 seconds to name...

CHARACTERS WHO APPEARED IN 20 OR MORE EPISODES

So that's any character who makes an appearance in at least 20 of Knightmare's 112 episodes. There are ten correct answers on this list. Because she has scored slightly less than Annie during the game so far, Rosey gets to answer first. She is going to consider her answer while I am having a bath.

Rosey has decided to go for Lissard. Annie, which character will you plump for?

Oh my good god, this has the potential for disaster.

After much dithering I will try Sylvester Hands.

A tie! Now, let's see all ten correct answers. Episode totals are included in brackets.

TREGUARD (112) - 6
HORDRISS (39) - 4
LORD FEAR (53) - 4
MOTLEY (28) - 4
PICKLE (47) - 4
LISSARD (20) - 3
MAJIDA (25) - 3
SMIRKENORFF (28) - 3
SYLVESTER HANDS (28) - 3
MERLIN (28) - 2

Merlin could have done someone a huge favour there - who would've thought it? On to the next question, then. We gave 6 people 100 seconds to name...

SERIES 3 CHARACTERS WHO GAVE OUT AT LEAST ONE STEP CLUE

So that's any credited character from Series 3 who gave at least one step clue (for use in Merlin's throne room, obviously) to a team. Annie, it's your turn to go first.

Haha, I couldn't decide between Sly and Smirky and it didn't matter either way. Can't believe Merlin was the lowest scoring answer!

Oh dear, I once wrote a Lexicon entry about step clues so I ought to know these. I've narrowed my choice down to two characters and I'm going with...... Hordriss, just because I know he did but I can't picture him actually saying it!

Two of the more obscure answers there, but Olaf was the killer - he gave out one solitary step clue, to Julie when she gave him a candle. So, Rosey takes a 1-0 lead. Let's see all the correct answers:

MOTLEY - 4
BRANGWEN - 3
GOLGARACH - 3
MELLISANDRE - 3
VELDA - 3
HORDRISS - 1
MRS GRIMWOLD - 1
ORACLE - 1
OLAF - 0

On to the next question, then. We gave 6 people 100 seconds to name...

DUNGEONEERS WHOSE QUESTS FEATURED MOGDRED

That one's fairly self-explanatory, I think. Rosey is first this time.

This is quite hard, I can't remember which quest some appearances were in. Think it'll have to be Leo (Series 3).

Oh dear, another tie! There are a few answers that would have beaten either of those two, and one that would have been beaten by either of them. Let's take a look...

MARK (2) - 3
CHRIS (2) - 2
GILES (4) - 2
JULIAN (2) - 2
LEO (3) - 2
NEIL (2) - 2
STUART (2) - 2
HELEN (4) - 1
ROSS (3) - 1
TONY (2) - 1

So, the score is still 1-0 to Rosey as we move on to the next question. We gave 6 people 100 seconds to name...

SPELLS CAST ON-SCREEN BY CHARACTERS

So that's any spell (cast in the normal, "Spellcasting" way) that was cast by a character during the course of one or more episodes of Knightmare. An assurance: the use of the phrase "on-screen" does not mean that we definitely have to have seen the letters spelled out - it just means that any spell a character has obviously cast off-screen (and there are a couple of those) does not count.

Annie, it's you to kick us off.
