The Movie. I think Ed is the best choice, who do you think?

Post by BBrooks »

The long awaited DW Movie has been in the news for a few weeks now and if Matt Smith is not going to appear in it (which is quite likely at the minute) then who do you think should play the Timelord on the big screen?

Forget bookies favourite Johnny Depp. Click on the link below to see Actor/Punk Rocker and former Crystal Maze host Edward Tudor Pole beside the Tardis.

It's one of those pictures where you automatically think "Yeah, he's perfect for The Doctor", he didn't even deliberately dress for the picture either, there straight from his wardrobe. His predescessor Richard O' Brien would be excellent too.

Bring back McGann and do a Time War movie, I say. The guy needs some closure.

Has he done any acting though? He looks the part but if he can't act then there wouldn't be much point...

Ed can certainly Act and has appeared in many TV Shows and Movies, he played Spike Milligan in "The Life and Death of Peter Sellers", he also appeared alongside Clint Eastwood in "White Hunter, Black Heart" and he was the evil wizard Enaros in "Kull the Conqueror". He did appear in "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" as Mr Borgin, but his scenes were deleted.

To really understand how good he would be as The Doctor watch "The Crystal Maze" if you already haven't, here's a great clip from his tenure on the show.

If you thought that Ed was "Doctor-ish" in that, then check out this. :)

This is a clip of him in "Kull the Conqueror" (the monster is played by Pat Roach a.k.a Bomber in Auf Wiedersehen Pet).

He's also a Punk Rocker and his band "Tenpole Tudor" had a Top Ten hit with "Swords of a Thousand Men" in 1981 (one of my favourites).

I've often thought ETP has very similar eyes to Patrick Troughton, so I guess he has a visual pedigree.

I've just found this Facebook group, campaigning for Ed to be the next Doctor. Join it and spread the word.

It also includes a great photo of him standing next to a Dalek at a convention.
