Fantastic :D

I love Izzy's (Issy's?) team, they're the best ever; I hope they win!

We've had a lot of fun making the series over the past 6 years, but what do I really think of it? Find out now in Jake's Throwback Reviews!

Episode: Series 2, Episode 6
Original Release Date: 21st June 2014
Throwback Review Date: 7th April 2016
Score: 4 out of 5 (very good)

The Good: I love Izzy's team and I really wish now that we'd had them win, but that's not really a bad thing because it evokes a genuine feeling of having experienced a real episode of Knightmare – the teams that I like most and consider the best are practically never the teams that actually win, and I know that I'm not alone in feeling this way.

Dave's quest was written as a complete farce, and I think it's a total success in this respect. It's hilarious from start to finish, thanks in no small part to Roy Jackson as the utterly clueless Dave and Amy Davies as the relatively lucid Keeley. I'm rather pleased with my evil laugh at the very end of the quest.

The Bad: The hobgoblin isn't supposed to start moving until after Treguard has said “one piece” and I don't think the sound effects really make that clear – you have to rely on Sam's dialogue. I think it's a good idea to expand on the world of King Arawn and his elves from the Knightmare book continuity, but I'm no longer entirely sure that the Audio Series is the best place to do it.

Conclusion: It's a highly entertaining episode with two great-sounding teams (in two very different ways) and plenty of farcical hilarity.
