Knightmare PC game in development

As some of you may have found out, I am near to completing a Knightmare game project.
I am working on level 3 rooms at the moment so maybe soon the first version will be ready for a thorough testing.

It isn't a professional development- it is purely my attempt to create a fully interactive game based on the TV show.
It features accurate rooms based on both the TV show from various series' and photographic data from heritage locations (with added digital lighting).

The sounds are pro-standard edited from various dialogues throughout the show.

Also, there are 4 quests (cup, crown, sword, shield) with a full choice of paths. Classic locations include the bomb room, corridor of blades, the ridolfo/pooka scene, and many more under wraps.

If you get the chance to play this product, please don't pick it to pieces but please, however, report any errors!!!

If you are interested, please let me know!

Does the game run in a Windows environment or is it DOS based?

Sounds impressive! I'd be more than happy to give it the going over.

Yes, what engine have you used? AGS? Flash?

It runs on windows. (I've tested on only '98SE and XP)

I created it on an advanced version of 'klik and play' called 'the games factory'.

Last night, i was working on some of the quest endings.
I'll try and get an early version out by the end of next week. note, this will not contain the full number of rooms- some will be added as I get more ideas.

I am testing it on my girlfriend's younger brother over the weekend- if someone else tries to play it, they always find faults!

I'll email anyone some current screenshots- so please leave your email hyperlink if you're intersted!

not too long until you'll be able to!!

however, I wont distribute it untill I'm absolutely certain there aint no obvious errors. (if there is, it would be helpful to report).

A few more rooms are being added- each with their own programming difficulties!!!

Right.
It's getting close everyone!!

Every quest has got an ending and all rooms link well.
I may add future rooms as the game versions develop but the V1.0 may finalise by the end of the week.

Those of you who are interested and have their emails displayed may recieve emails with promo images, screenshots etc.

If you would like V1.0, please let me know so I can prepare the file bundle and attempt to email it.

If you prefer a hard-copy on CD ROM, email your postal address and I'll send it via that.

This program is freeware and postage will be free too. This is because I don't have a sales license and wish for the project to be distributed to share the fun I had in creating it.

Any errors, please report back to me.

hehe!!!

I've stayed up late for weeks working on this creation- it's gonna be great!!

It's basically a simple adventure game- you walk around and the dungeoneers animation is simple- side-steps in each left/right direction and 4wd, bkwd etc.

It represents the original knightmare dungeons quite well combining all of the series, voiceovers from Treg, pookas, gueists, pickle (no Majida!) and interactive dialogues where you have to answer the questions!

My experience of TGF is that it has some really serious collision detection problems.

The vast majority of the fan-made games at www.yolkfolk.com (for those of you who remember Dizzy on the 8-bits) are made with TGF and the chances of getting irretrievably stuck in the scenery are very high.

However, given that this is not a platform game, the collision detection bugs may not prove to be such a problem.

There's only one way to find out...

yes- collision detection is an issue!!
you can get stuck in walls if your character's hot-spot is in the wrong place and the whole animation changes direction!!!

My game's got a 45 degree angle from platform level to top-down view.

I'm actually Trying to get round this small bug I found that somehow causes the dungeoneers leg to get stuck in the invisible wall barriers on the CoB-
Don't worry- this should be sorted soon!!

Shouldn't be too long 'till I start sending out copies!!

I've been so busy this week, I think it'll be next week when it's ready!
I came back from London tuesday (it was supposed to be monday but my girlfriend took my railcard and ticket with her to work by accident so I had to stick around, or pay full price for another)
So tuesday I did a bit of bug-spotting.
Wednesday I was helping my Grandad with a garden,
Thursday I had to go back into London (Stratford) to have a Conductor's assessment (which took me all day)
And today I'll probably work on it a bit later!!!

Busy!!!

I just want it to be right rather than send out some shoddy piece of programming with faults coming out of it's earoles!!
