Challenge's loss?
If a DVD was released on Monday *here's hoping* I believe that the way that Challenge? keep treating us, then as the word was spread around about the DVD release Challenge? would lose out dearly. Anyone agree?

Re: Challenge's loss?
Yep, because all the Knightmare fans would buy the DVD, and then not watch Challenge, because they have the DVD. And then Challenge's ratings would drop, and they would lose out. That's just my opinion though.

Yeah, glad to see I'm not alone, although I kinda suspected that everyone here would agree. ;) So, let's hope they bring Knightmare out on DVD soon. ;D

Yep, I'd rush right out and buy the DVD rather than waiting ages to find out whether Challenge are going to show more Knightmare...or not. That reminds me, there should've been an announcement about it's future on Challenge by now - come on Mr Challenge Boss, tell us! But yeah, they'd lose out to a DVD.

Yeah, because on a DVD, you can have lots of great things, whereas on Challenge all you get is the program. I don't mind that, but having extras is cool. ;D

And there's no advert breaks, dodgy challenge logo or nasty video jockeys talking over the end credits!
Challenge losing money is also a large plus though.

Re: Challenge's loss?
It doesn't matter what the programme is. As long as the distributors know it's a money-spinner it will be released.

Re: Challenge's loss?
Very catty, but after 8 or 9 months of trying to gently push Challenge, ChallengeTV, Challenge?, Challenge!!!, Challenge$&{<[/*, or whatever they've branded themselves this week, in the right direction, I can understand the frustration of some people. So add my muted 'Miaow', although I doubt a DVD would hurt their viewing figures much. Anyway, they lose most of them on their own through lapses into hapless inadequacy. Oh, Grimwold, stop it, you agreed to be nice. And there's no advert breaks, dodgy challenge logo or nasty video jockeys talking over the end credits!

Re: Challenge's loss?
There are only so many episodes of Knightmare to watch, if they were on DVD would you just watch them all over and over again?. Its odd but having them avalible at spaced intervals somehow keeps interest alive.
DVD's should have extras and be released in series at staged intervals.

Re: Challenge's loss?
i hope the DVD's will be released in all one go, but i do agree they should have bonus material on the DVDs so we can find out how the show was made....
Mrs Grimwold
Let loose Festus on Challenge and see if we cant persuade them to stop changing their name..
On a more realistic note has anyone got any idea why they do keep changing their name? Seems pointless to me...

I think GM could release series 1 only, to test the water. As I say, series 1 can fit onto one disc, which would allow for another separate disc to be crammed with goodies. If it's a big enough success, then the following series can be progressively released. The BBC are releasing the series of Red Dwarf progressively over time. They have already released series 1 and 2. Series 3 is coming out soon, I think, if it hasn't come out already. I think it will take a couple of years for all of them to come out. Then again, that's probably because of organising cast commentaries, remastering, design etc. It's possible a similar time-frame would be observed with the release of Km onto DVD, too, if a similar style is adopted.
