Challenge +1 ratings for 2014

Wow, the final episode of Knightmare Series 2 (shown on 30th November) was one of the most watched programmes of the whole year on Challenge +1! seemed to imply it had the highest viewing figures of any show (scroll down to near the bottom), but I think they omitted the programmes that also rated highly on the main Challenge channel. Even so, Knightmare did top the chart that week with 45,000 viewers, and having looked through the BARB figures myself, it still made the top ten of 2014 (unless anything had a larger audience in the last three days of the year, not yet published). It came in equal 10th place with Catchphrase:

1. The Chase (Wednesday 24th December 17:00) (72,000)
2. Celebrity Who Wants To Be A Millionaire (Tuesday 21st January 22:00) (63,000)
3. Bullseye (Sunday 17th August 21:31) (56,000)
= Pointless (Wednesday 24th September 21:00) (56,000)
5. Celebrity Who Wants To Be A Millionaire (Friday 17th January 23:00) (55,000)
6. Bullseye (Sunday 20th July 21:30) (54,000)
7. TNA Impact (Sunday 16th March 22:02) (51,000)
= Who Wants To Be A Millionaire (Monday 17th November 23:01) (51,000)
9. Bullseye (Sunday 17th August 21:01) (46,000)
10. Catchphrase (Sunday 15th June 19:52) (45,000)
= Knightmare (Sunday 30th November 11:30) (45,000)

Note that it's the only morning show in the top ten - all the others are evening shows, with the biggest audience at teatime on Christmas Eve. That strikes me as pretty impressive! The sharing of the extended Geek Week episode earlier that week may have been a contributing factor, although Challenge had already tweeted on 22nd November that Knightmare was "stonking it in the ratings" - the Radio Times poll victory may well have helped.

The 28th September episode of Knightmare (which I think would have been the sixth episode of Series 1?) also made the weekly Top 10, coming in 3rd with 27,000 viewers.

But didn't make the list for the regular channel? Amazing what an hour makes.

Also i'm shocked people still watch repeats of Bullseye lol

You know how the thought process goes:

FIDDLESTICKS! There's an episode of Knightmare on telly and it's already 20 minutes in.

Oh thats a relief, Challenge has a plus 1 channel doesn't it. I'll go and make a cup of tea and a sandwich and get myself settled.
