A short Knightmare documentary is being made, and will be shown this Christmas along with a few Series 3 episodes. The rest of the series will be shown in a late night slot in January, according to the Challenge TV forum.

I've heard that depending on the viewing figures, they will buy the rights to other series. So yes get as many people you know to watch it, but I think viewing figures are derived from the thousand or so homes which are take part in BARB ratings research, and have a set-top box which records their viewing.

I note that the Anglia TV Knightmare site has been updated with the Challenge knews: http://www.angliatv.com/angliagold/knig ... ntent.html

A documentary as well?! This is VERY good!  ;D

btw, it is imperative to get good quality recordings of this series (eg highest quality DVD recordings from whoever has a DVD recorder) as these will be invaluable for tape trading later on, should Challenge decide not to show any more.

If Km is a big success, then Challenge might just put the show on regular rotation...  ;)

so that's what dan was hinting at....

dan is a friend of mine who works for one of the producers (he told me which one when he was drunk).  friend of a friend played the samurai and the giants foot (he is now a kendo instructor).

anyway, dan posted this on one of my boards the other day:

'Inside information allows me to imply, if not state, that Knightmare might just be repeated on digital TV some time soon...

Will keep Games Soc posted.'

tis all very very good...

yes, i know, i have contacts and i forgot to tell you, i am a bad bad person.

a wood elf is basically a sub species of elf, mostly popular because it is found in bloodbowl etc (fantasy wargaming armies).

a wood elf is so called because they live in forests.  they are also known as sylvan elves.  they are highly skilled with bows and tend to wear a green coloured, tight fitting armour that appears to be made of bark.

there are many subraces of elf.  the most notable being high elves (often found in sithicus in ravenloft), aquatic elves (sea elves), drow (dark elves), known for their darkvision and often evil alignment, gray elves and wild elves (grugach).

More information (including a picture) can be found on pages 20 - 22 of the 3rd ed D&D monster manual.

spot the roleplayer.... i could do almost all of that off by heart.

Wow...nice one Rachel! But how many of us simple folk who watch KM religiously knew what a Wood Elf was? The only elves I know of are Elita and Pickle...oh and the woman from series 3, Velda or summat! I know Elita was a Cavern Elf or whatever, but what about the other two? :-/

Um, Pickle was a wood elf, I think Tim Child said to in The Quest.
Elita was a cavern elf, that was pretty much obvious as she - uh - went about in caverns, and was rarely (if ever) seen outside. Again, Tim Child said she was a cavern elf.
Velda would be much more difficult to classify. Again, I'd say she had cavern-elvish tendencies (we never saw her outside - but then in series 3 we never saw ANYTHING outside!). She is, however, obviously a warrior elf - frequent referrals to her clan and very skilled at being armed show this...

I'd have liked to see some half-elves in Knightmare actually. That'd have been good.

I think series 7 and 8 were the best because of the improvement of graphics. Having looked at series 3, the scorpian only had a five frame animation which looks a bit cheap!

       But thats just me :)

The graphics may have been poor compared with todays standards, but when you think about it the graphics in series 3 were rather good considering it was 1989.
The Mine Cart is a prime example of this, it was amazing!
