New Knightmare

Post by tomyboy »

The Knightmare looks cool! When does it start? Which channel is it (likely) to be on?

How will it work if it's computer made and live?

I assume you have been to the TeleVirtual website, but only looked at the pictures and movie rather than reading the text. It is still in the development stages and they are looking for a channel to commission it rather than approaching just one channel.

It hasn't been commissioned yet. It was launched in London last week in front of interested parties. Hopefully it went well. The long wait is now in progress, though!

There are some helpful hints on the Televirtual site, and Tim Child himself has posted lots of info on here in recent months. Plenty of information for you, if you know where to look.

I've just watched the new clips and I think it's looks good. But the exciting thing is it says on the website: "Viewers of digital channels" suggesting that Knightmare will be on a terrestiral channel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder if Knightmare does come back if the "old Guard" will be back as well. Treyguard, Motley Hordris and Lord Fear (though the demo sounds like him). Could the greater game survive without them if they did not want to do it?

To me watching it since it started Treyguard "is" Knightmare. It would not feel right someone else doing the show. WEll, not for me anyway.

You mean the original characters doing the voices? Hey, that'd be cool. And it'd probably make it more successful. I hadn't thought of that!

Hugo Myatt was at the demonstration in PERSON as Treguard.

Mark Knight did the voice recording for Lord Fear in the U.S.

Please look in one of the topics saying New KM Clips please.

If it's nearly finished then surely there's not that much longer till it come to our screens!!!! My music teacher loved Knightmare; she says that they should've make it for adult and children!!!

Don't count the chickens, Tomyboy. BVA said only a week or so ago that it's FAR too soon to say whether a new series will even be commissioned, let alone when it would be shown.

I doubt anything will happen that quickly. I predict a couple of years' wait until anyone commissions a brand new series of a show that might not appeal to the general public. Sure, there are many fans of Knightmare out there, but I don't think many channels will take a chance on something like this in a hurry.

I'd rather not dwell on the negative, though. The new format looks great, the dungeon rooms are impressive and the videos are quite excellent. After viewing the demonstration, investors may have been persuaded to take this new Knightmare format very seriously.

I'm crossing my fingers, but at the same time, I'm not building my hopes up.

Afraid he isn't. It is only one possible scenario, but this is the way TV works a lot of the time. Decision-making is often a very slow process because of the many layers of committees that they often have to pass through, and sadly, the bigger the TV company, the more committees they seem to have. That's bureaucracy for you.
