Knightmare Career Ambitions

How might you change Knightmare if a new series were to be made?

Knightmare Career Ambitions

Post by Fidjit »

My career ambitions is to get enough dosh to build my own blue/green screen studio and create a comedy version of Knightmare...

Motley: We've got to keep Grimwold quiet or we're dead!

Fidjit (Me): Keep him QUIET? He's rampaging about the dungeon making more noise than Smirkenorff taking on yodeling classes! Everyone in levels one and two would have heard him by now!

Well, I don't think it takes much cash to get the tech required for Knightmare these days...

Computer(s) to drive the graphics output.
One analogue video mixer.
One DV camcorder to record dungeoneer.
Monitor to show advisors what's going on.
A computer with a FireWire card and editing software, to put it all together.
A couple of radio mikes.
A blue room.

AFAICS that should give you enough tech to get something working - maybe not at broadcast quality but enough to mess around with and get something fairly presentable. And most of that tech should be available to borrow... the only things I don't have to hand easily are the video mixer and a blue room.

Acting in Knightmare series 9 would be pretty good... Scaring dungeoneers and advisers with extra-evil obstacles and so forth. In the end credits of one episode in series 4 (I think) there was an excellent obstacle with a narrow zig-zagging path over a chasm, and over all that a pendulum like an axe blade was swinging. That would've been a good one, but I don't know if they ever used it.
