Ag.. I ent allowed to miss out on funny things, good sir.

Well, I loved FunHouse to be honest. Always remember the Parrot Prize thing, and the kids breaking their necks to get back to the beginning after collecting three prize tokens. Oh, and the Go-Kart racing, pushing the buttons to set off explosions and swapping twice round was really cool too. I'm afriad all my vengence goes on Virtually Impossible, because that was of the genre that was supposed to replace KM, and it was such a dire effort. Interesting to know what non-KM afflicted folk thought of V.I, because as fans of the best show of Earth, we're always going to find it relatively atrotious. Was it really that bad? [Tries to attain a neutral perspective; Yes]

I loved Fun House when I was younger, it was a right laugh, my brother constantly sings the opening theme so it's been stuck in my mind for ages. If Challenge? ever bought the rights, they'd probably give it a slot similar to what slot they've given "It's a Knockout"

And yes, I remember Dreamstone - a very class cartoon indeed.

its better than a dream.

Higher than the moon
Crazy like a..."

I've forgotten the rest.

All I can remember of the Fun House theme is:

"It's a whole lotta race where anyone can race"

And I doubt those are even the correct words!

But I enjoyed Fun House when it was on ITV. Me being ten years old and all...
"When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced. Live your life so that when you die, the world cries and you rejoice."

Dreamstone!

Better than a Dream
Stranger than my wild imagination
If it is real sensation
It's better than a dream...

Higher than the moon,
Crazy, like a beautiful illusion,
Crazy and in confusion:
It's better than a Dreeeeeeam!

What wonderful lyrics... what has happened to the best programmes? Repeat them all. ;)

Fun House... it's a whole lot of fun, with prizes to be won,
It's a real crazy show where anything can go.
Fun House... it's a quiz, it's a race, a real wacky place,
Use your body and your brain if you wanna win the game....

FUN HOUSE!

What wonderful lyrics...
But the Urpney's song was better! I need to go dig out my Dreamstone videos now...

Speaking of CITV classics, anyone remember Bad Influence? I loved that show. *is a gamer whore* Did anyone else tape the Datablasts so they could watch them in slow-motion later?

ETA: "gamer sleeper" would be the censor's version of "gamer wh*re". Is anyone else wanting to "test" the censor to see what it comes out with?

Dreamstone was eye-poppingly good.

Fun House was...'zany', but not as good as Knightmare (fairly obviously, otherwise I'd be on a Fun house forum now ;D)

I even liked Bad Influence! However, even as a 10 year old boy, I knew 'Virtually impossible' was poor. The Tetris game in that was so horribly jerky and the flight sim was just confusing. :(

Having said that, I was a kid who wondered why in Knightmare they interrupted the last quest to do something odd like the red dragon thing at the end of series 8. I never understood the concept of 'the series ending' part... ::)

Yes, Pat Sharp's mullet was scary... but he did get rid of it during the course of Funhouse! I remember a quite funny CITV trailer where they computer-generated potential new hairstyles onto a photo of him! He presented What's Up Doc on Saturday mornings for a while too - a surreal and entertaining show.

I fondly remember Dreamstone - it was charmingly animated and 'well-drawn' in the sense of characters as well. The Dreamstone album (does anyone else own a copy?) was excellent - Billy Connolly, Frank Bruno and Ozzy Osbourne trio-ing on 'The War Song Of The Urpneys' must be one of the milestones of musical history! Oh, and Gary Glitter is on the album as well...

I also remember Bad Influence (Nam Rood). And many other CITV programmes... Spatz was a favourite of mine. The cartoon Victor and Hugo (a Duckula spin-off series) was often shown before Knightmare so I ended up taping a few of those, including a crossover episode with Dangermouse!

Victor And Hugo also had a few crossover episodes with Duckula, apparently, as well as with Dangermouse. They were all produced by the same animation studio, Cosgrove Hall. The excellent website 'Cosgrove Hall Ate My Brain', run by the person who runs the Dreamstone website, has details. I would post a link but at the time of writing the website doesn't seem to be working.

You asked for details: the episode I saw was called 'French Exchange'. The short French criminal Hugo goes to London and poses as Penfold's locum, Blancmange, in order to capture DM's car, whilst the tall criminal Victor becomes the new pilot of Baron Greenback's ship.
