no offense Grippa but that's insulting to them. I think we should be glad somebody actually wants to take the time to bother thinking about releasing it.
Threatening them with such things is pointless and childish. Why don't you just get a friend to rip it onto a cd for you so you can play it on your pc or something. Besides, the main argument here is. If you record anything onto VHS or buy anything on VHS, then you will be in the same situation that most of us are now with ageing recordings. At least with DVD you can back it up a thousand times withot losing quality.
Obviously for some it would be preferable for it to be released on both formats but I doubt it will happen. DVD is currently the easiest format to mass produce and teh vhs market is dying somewhat so companies releasing programmes now are considering VHS as an option less and less (the percentage of releases is growing greater on dvd as opposed to vhs)

sorry if this sounds like a rant but i'm just compressing all the comments over the years put on the km site about vhs :)

well i have both a new vhs and dvd player, but a show like this isnt worth makeing to formats to, theres not enough money in it.. they tend to do one or the other..if AB deal with dvd then it will be in dvd,
but remember other companys will only deal in vhs wich is rarther anoying... i meen haveing knightmare on vhs meens u'll have about 6/7 vids a season.. with dvd u'll get about 3 a season at most.. wich works out cheaper

4.6gb (single layer single sided) most likely  so
4/5 episodes (5 for the ones that're 23 minutes each)
per disc.
Unless they use DVD 9 which i believe are the single sided dual layered discs which store about 9.6gb ?

They could fit the whole of Series 1 onto these.

im in norwich at the moment... i could go to anglia square with a chainsaw and demand they make the rights to knightmare available...

then i could run away very fast.

knightmare on dvd would be very cool - my videos aren't great quality.

The pilot episodes...

Post by Malefact »

Wouldn't it be great if they could put the pilot episodes on DVD as well? And maybe some of the outtakes?

Incidently, although I don't have a DVD player, most of the computers at my uni have a DVD-ROM drive. I could go to one of the 24 hour labs with a sleeping bag and the discs.......

Yeh well if Anchor Bay do go ahead, i'll let them know about all the available Docs as there's tons of stuff knocking around to put on the discs. Debz's interviews for one :-)

The pilot would be very easily obtainable for them (the 25 minute one that is, I don't know if the 15 minute original test is still available)

Hmm, reckon an audio commentary on at least the very first episode would go down well? I reckon Tim would be up for that :)

Exactly. Half of them must be thick.

"Anchor Bay only deal in Cult Horror"  Bollox. Since when are "The Goonies" and "Return to Oz" and "All good dogs go to heaven" horror movies?

That might work actually  :D

It can feature the first ever team's quest in full, clips from all the winning quests, plus some commentary on each series

Any other ideas?  ;)
