Is it me or did it look like the dungeon were trying to kill off the team as quickly as possible? In the last few rooms you had the Block&Tackle (Why was this in level 3?), the Corridor of Blades, the collapsing bridge and the transporter pads. Although I also could have sworn they were hit by one of the blades.

If you have this episode on video, check the last few frames of the end credits and you'll see what looks like Gundrada dropping the sword at the end!

Ive always thought that too that they were trying to kill them off to finish but having said that i think they were spinning the episode out since i swear one of the blades in the corridor of blades touched Giles infact 2 did I think they were let off there.
And I reckon if they wanted to kill them off in the block and tackle they could have just made one of the lower blocks move as they were dashing about. lol.
It was a strange end really.

And yes if id have been Giles and co I would have been furious at been pulled out that close to the end.

Mebbe they punished the team in a more torturus fashion they thought "ah let em off on the corridor of blade we'll really make em lose out when we end their quest without even killing em" lol so close to the end.

I guess realistically they were aware they may not finish hence why they wernt banging their pens on the clipboards - pure simons advisers style  ;D.

It's interesting that they got the Block And Tackle (in Level Three, to boot!) as well as the Corridor Of Blades. It seemed to alternate between one or the other in earlier teams.

I reckon it was an attempt to have the series finish with a failure, like with series 1. However, they just wouldn't die!  :D

but they wernt looseing they were on the way to win.
They must have been really pissed off, unless they were a 'fixed' team to finish with.

The thing that made the last team for me was Bret's (I think, the big advisor) facial expressions, they were brilliant.

The best was when the Assasin appeared just outside the ruins, he nearly pooped himself.  ;D

Yea,  I really think they could have completed the quest,    what a shame they had not enough time. :(

i dunno, im thinking they were kept alive to end the series with a 'loding' team rather than pull a fresh team out 2 mins into level one...i mean, imagine them not even completing the room of choice :D

I'm sure they could've killed them off earlier and got a new team in... was it Series 8 with its horrible 'short cut' that managed to get a new team started and into level 3 before they had to stop, for a total quest time of 8 minutes?

I think I like this last team the best from this season.  They got so involved and did well on a thoroughly lethal level 3 - imagine if some of the earlier teams had had a level 3 that nasty?  I thought they did the blades well with the throwing-from-wall-to-wall, personally.  There were more blades than any other team got and they were pretty fast towards the end.  Best block and tackle ever, too. :-)

Now I just want to see some Season 2 for more Mogdred. ;-)

Yeah that dungeoneer was scarily good at throwing himself from side to side and when they told him to duck, he didn't just duck but almost spread-eagled himself across the floor! The advisors were a bit slow though and got really excited about it...

Move left, no right! Stay where you are! STAY WHERE YOU ARE!

Slightly remeniscent of a certian Welsh team in a certain block and tackle room.................

That was a really frantic episode wasn't it? It was a lot of fun despite the fact that they probably were let off a couple of times. I was laughing at how excited the team got and the Corridor of Blades bit was hilarious - I was giggling away when that was on!  Great stuff! ;D

I'm surprised they didn't cut out the Christmas bit at the end, seeing as it's the beginning of summer! The GJ also noticed, thinking that Treguard was crazy and got completely the wrong time of year!

Oh, in the corridor of blades, look _very_ closely. Can you see a small square in the middle of the screen? That's the back of the studio!
(VHS is too low quality, you need to watch a DVD-R or Sky Plus recording to see)
The walls on the left and right are only masked out by extra bluescreen, so the dungeoneer has to be careful not to run into the walls! (see the Slow Hand outtakes on the main site)
Also, what's with the 'dots' of noise at the top of the Corridor of Blades?

I've just watched the final quest again and I firmly believe there was a few things cut obviously to try and get the team through as quickly as possible to maybe complete the game.

The Place of Choice - This is CLEARLY CUT, If you listern to Treguard He says Listern Team(in a fairly low tone of voice) and then suddenly says Choose Now for the Sword or Shield(in a slighty higher tone of voice) and then if you listern very carefully, you can just about hear Pickle trying to say something but was obviously quickly cut.

Where they met Merlin - Was something cut here prehaps, When they finally found the key, they shouted out Merlin 3 times but Merlin never told them to do this so how did they know what to do????

Outside the Inn - Giles has hardly walked onto the screen when one of the advisors very quickly explains where he is, Normally the dungioneer always says Where am I before they say anything.

Meeting Brother Mace - I dont think nothing was cut here but watching Brother Mace again from what someone said earlier, something obviously distracts him in the background as he keeps glancing to the left and right(Obviously to the production staff) and he looks puzzled by something. Watch it again, Its quite weird.

The Corrider of Blades - I'm sorry but they definatly died here and I think they were let off just so they could fill in the remaining few minutes as it would obviously be pointless to introduce another team. It was at the bit when he ducked and was asked to move to the left and watching carefully the Blade definatly catches him, I am still suprised he was let off but it was obviously for the clear reason it was the last episode of the season and they needed to fill in a few more minutes.

Saying all this though, they were a fantasic team and I was really impressed and I kinda felt sorry for them too, If only there was one more programme they would have easily completed the game and I think they deserved it too. I bet they felt kinda disapointed being so near to the end only to be told they cant go any further.

Also when watching the end Credits, Gundrada clearly drops her sword and I thought it was quite funny(Dont know if she meant to do it or it was kinda classed as an outtake but it definatly happens in the final split second of the clip) I loved the GJ's reaction on Sky when she said What Is she Doing(in a kind of shocked voice) Made me laugh anyway
