Tony's death in Series 2

Post by MJNSEIFER »

I'm doing some lists for how people died in some of my favorite show's so I thought I'd better put Kightmare in there too.

But I just need something cleared up about Tony's death.

Did Mogdred actualy kill him? or did Tony's life force (That was very low) simply run out infront of him?

(It's the bit were Mogdred says "Play forvever" BTW)

It's technically an automatic lock-in, though instead of just them entering an empty room and Treguard saying "Oh dear, you've entered the wrong room" Mogdred appears and finishes them off. I'd call it a Mogdred death.

what happened in that room where steven (the chubby guy) walked into the wellway room and dies as the light fades?

there was a symbol on the floor, and they had no magic.

I think it was in series 2.

They needed an illumination spell of some kind, but they failed to earn it from Merlin a few rooms earlier.

I dont think mogdred killed them as such, he just came in the room to mock them for losing! As he did so like to mock!

If I remember correctly Mogdred didn't tend to mock that much, just threw the odd spanner in the works. Fear, on the other hand, delighted in mocking and gloating.

Since I don't pick up Challenge I'm going from a slightly hazy memory here.

but didn't their life-force get low or something?

Treg said it was, then the light faded.

Was that a crown or sheild piece on the floor?
And that was the wellway to level3 weren't it?

Automatic lock-in?

That should have been a perfect shot for Richard O'Brien, not Mogdred...

(PEDANTIC: Yes, I do realise this was series 2, and the Crystal Maze didn't start until after series 3. But you can see what I mean.)

He was bald, but that's about as far as the similarity goes. I couldn't see him charging round the Crystal Maze the way Richard O'Brien did (at nearly 50) - in fact, I'll wager that a Skeletron had more life in it than Grimaldine did.

And as for playing the harmonica or introducing the dungeoneer to Mumsie...

Crystal Maze was a quality show until O'Brien left. Ed Tudor Pole couldn't hold a candle to him!

just re-watched teh episode. he says....."welcome to one of mogdred little play pens...play a while...play forever...mwahahahaha etc" and every door had portculiss(sorry spelling) on. so being trapped in a room with no food or exit, id still say it wasnt a mogdred death!

But did we ever see that room again? Maybe we were supposed to intepret it as a trap he'd specifically set for the losing team, having guessed that they'd have enough famous body swerve to get past the "Cat"!

Re: the above post.

My attempts at humour are falling flat elsewhere on this board. For the record, I do know how they failed in that particular room - but I wanted to include the Cat abbreviation and the related joke.
