Myers Briggs Type Indicator for Characters

Post by Redthir »

For those of you who're unfamiliar with the MBTI, click here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myers-Brig ... _Indicator
(There's a lot more to know, by the way). Those of you who are more familiar with the idea, I'd be interested to hear what you think of my choices.
Treguard - ISTJ (Possibly leans towards ISTP in later series when he becomes more active.)
Lord Fear - INTJ
Skarkill - ISTP
Merlin - INTP
Mogdred - INTP
Hordriss - IxFP (At least in the earlier series)
Lillith - ISFJ
Cedric - ESTP
Folly - ENxP
Motley - ESTP
Mrs Grimwold - ESFJ
Brother Mace - ESFJ

These are my gut feelings.

I find this quite interesting actually.

Is there any kind of test?

Yes, there is a test, several in fact but the accuracy is disputable. There are 8 cognitive functions; each type uses all 8 but in a different order; these are what comprise all 16 types. The middle two letters say which functions are dominant, the first letter says whether the dominant is Extraverted or Introverted, the last says whether the top extraverted function is the second (P) or the third (J). Ps are usually spontaneous and free-spirited, Js are more structured and orderly - with exceptions though. For example, the ISFP (Introverted Sensing Feeling Perceiving) would have their functions as follows:

Introverted Feeling as the dominant.
Extraverted Sensing as the auxiliary.
Introverted Intuition as the tertiary (always the opposite of the auxiliary.)
Extraverted Thinking as the inferior (reverse of the dominant).
Extraverted Feeling, Introverted Sensing, Extraverted Intuition and finally Introverted Thinking.

Explaining further would be tricky - is my explanation good enough?

On a separate note, I think Hordriss is INTJ, not IxFP.

I am actually not sure what my type is - I suspect that I'm ENFP, but I cannot be sure.

It does make sense.

Curiously, actually, I suspect that this sort of thing is easier to say about a character from Knightmare, who tends to be quite consistent in their "mood" and how they present themselves.
