Re: lord fear, castle, Pools and knights
I always thought when I was younger that Morgdred was a cross between the Emperor out of Starwars and a monk
Although I hated some of the later series characters I did like the new lord fear backgrounds and his meddling with technology / alien artifacts background. It kind of made it more interesting (and similar to Saruman in the Lord of the Rings with his "March of Technology" ethic

An interesting idea. As I've hinted before, I'd have loved the Brollachan's story to be something like the Balrog from LOTR- so for "the dwarves delved too deeply and awoke an unnamed horror", read "Lord Fear spread his virtual clutches too wide and awoke something truly perilous to both the Powers That Be and the Opposition".Although I hated some of the later series characters I did like the new lord fear backgrounds and his meddling with technology / alien artifacts background. Were FrightKnights ever used?
Apart from behind lord fear in the spy glass scenes from season 5? Did they actually appear to attack dungeoneers ever?
Also, can anyone confirm an early memory of hordiss making a ledge disappear beneath a dungeoneer or sending a sword after them on a ledge and ultimately killing them? Or was it Morgdred or someone else?
I though Hordiss was a goody

I can't remember dungeoneers ever meeting a Frightknight. Mogdred used to crumble ledges but I don't know if he ever killed anyone. Morghanna did though.
Oh look there's J.G. Ballard in a burnt-out fridge with a spitfire pilot.

Hordriss was both a goody and a baddie, but more of a goody in the later series- whereas in the earlier series he was commonly refered to as a red wizard, ie baddie!
Hordriss was known as the confuser as people never knew which side he would be on!

Re: Were FrightKnights ever used?
In Series 3, Hordriss definitely would've killed. He sent a magic sword after Leo in Series 3, but the team cast a dispel on SWORD which forced him to beat a hasty retreat! Ironically, the team cast DROWS, which is the name for the dark elf race!
...ahem...
You may be thinking of Morghanna, who sent a sword after Ross, and he fell off a thin ledge and died. Malice and Mogdread also crumbled bridges. No dungeoneer died by falling off a crumbling bridge - it was simply a case of power walk and live!
Anyway, the Frightknights were used on the causeways in Series 6, but that's the closest any dungeoneer got to them.

Re: FrightKnights
yeah someone asked this question earlier (if the frightknights behind LF were ever used middungeon)
we mentioned the causeways and trophys but i dont think that instance got a mention or the transporter pads either (im guessing its a fright knight)

Re: FrightKnights
People had previously told me that the knights in Series 4 weren't ever called Frightknights. But I noticed while watching this time that when an armoured chap appeared, Gundrada definitely referred to it as a Frightknight.
