Re:Merlin's Calling Name?

I would not call Hordriss an old man to his face even if I was Lord Fear himself with forty thousand goblins behind me. (And a few trolls as well.)

Re:Concerning Treguard

Do you remember Team 10 of Series 2's encounter with the Medusa? How Treguard advised them to only look at the screen for a few seconds before turning away? Did you notice that Treguard himself keeps his gaze on the screen for the entirety of the challenge? He is one tough dungeon master!

Re:What do you reckon happened to Mogdred?

That's the way I've always seen it as well - that Mogdred is the personification of Merlin's bad side but a completely independant character. This could also explain why Merlin was always on the side of good and seemed genuinely pleased when he was able to offer spells and advice once the dungeoneer...

Re:What do you reckon happened to Mogdred?

Merlin died at the hands of Lord Fear? That is deeply saddening to know, but at the same time it does reinforce Fear's evil which some fans seem to think was forsaken a little in favour of his comedy value. I have great difficulty in believing Mogdred and Merlin are the same person. Even though the ...

Re:Motley's Place in the Dungeon

I get the feeling he was freelance, as Treguard seems to get pretty annoyed with him at times and if Motley was under his jurisdiction he could easily have sacked him or banished him. Treguard simply reprimands him on occasion.

Re:Motley's Place in the Dungeon

Mogdred and Lord Fear are more apt to be the ruler type figures who are regularly poked fun at. Didn't Motley once call Mogdred "Moggers" or some other sly nickname?

What do you reckon happened to Mogdred?

He only appears twice in Series 4, in the beginning where he kills his first dungeoneer face to face and at the end where he is psyching up to do battle with the final team. After that, he is not seen anymore. What do you reckon his fate was? Was he finally defeated forever? Did he get bored with th...

Re:Fanfiction: The Jester's Child

I love Knightmare fan fiction. I'm actually attempting to write my own as we speak.

Re:Fanfiction: The Jester's Child

Thanks for uploading it for us. From what I've seen it looks really good and I look forward to reading more. :)

Motley deserves his own story. ;)

Which rooms were designed but never used?

So far, there are two rooms I know of that were fully designed/animated but were never used. These are the swinging axe room that would have appeared in Series 4 and perhaps onwards and the pink room with all the numbers on the floor. Are there any more rooms we know of that were left on the cutting...

Re:Series 1 - Episode 8

A most interesting discussion. Series 1, while basic compared to the later series, was nonetheless a great introduction to the show. I love how the episode and the series ended in mystery - just what would the team have encountered had they been able to bring down the Walls of Jericho? Indeed, what ...

Re:What if a wall monster did eat a dungeoneer?

I really do need to track down a couple of these books. I used to have an interactive book unrelated to Knightmare and it was jolly good fun. I understand that one of them details Treguard's mastering of the dungeon. Is that right?

Re:Concerning Treguard

This topic is a good example of why I consider Treguard my favourite character (besides my little green friends and Mogdred). He has so many layers to his character and his behaviour and motivations can be explained by any one of a thousand different theories and unless Tim Child steps in and explai...

Re:What if a wall monster did eat a dungeoneer?

I agree with your post HStorm. I wonder if the purpose of the Wall Monsters' threats was to make sure the dungeoneer and the advisers were focused and concentrating. Even though your theory of the life force being drained is by far the most plausible as far as the wall monsters punishing the teams' ...

Re:Concerning Treguard

Many thanks for your detailed and informative reply HStorm. It's really good that we have experts like you to aid newbies like myself. Your answer to my query regarding Treguard's allegiance has allowed me to see the facts from a new angle and it makes a great deal of sense. I hadn't considered that...
