Can anyone think of parrallels between Knightmare and Canterbury Tales?

Actually I think that Julius Scaramunger is similar to the Pardoner. Totally unscrupulous.
Chaucer's Knight is very little like Sir Hugh de Whitless thoug.

Perhaps the rhyming recaps which Treguard gives at the beginning of Series 3 episodes pay homage to Chaucer's verses?

Like Chaucer's characters, various Knightmare fans undertook an April pilgrimage of sorts this year (and the year before), and I for one had the Canterbury Tales in mind beforehand...
I studied the Reeve's Tale at A Level. I'll read more of Chaucer at some point.

Does the Franklin bear any resemblance to Ridolpho? Am I clutching at straws?

No not really since the Franklin was an old man, a Justice of the peace and a Knight of the shire (nothing to do with Hobbitts). Ridolpho was a travelling Itallian trupador, he was annoying but fairly histocially accurate.
