Parody of Blockbuster by Sweet

Post by Drassil »

Blockbuster by Sweet (released in 1973) was a song I first got to know via a parody in an advert for the Dustbuster. This is my parody of it, about Series 2 Team 7.

A web in a lair, a wraith in the air
You made it past them and all the chessboard squares
The spears in a line, the dwarf in a mine
You're beating it all, you're coming through all the binds

A wizard in flight, a snake with a bite
And a crone who received no bone but gave "Stalactite"
"A gorilla thing", "The Goblin King"
The minotaur's the myth that you're rubbishing

And when you find the wellway, will we hear someone say
"We just haven't got a clue what to do!"
To make it a decent quest, there's got to be a test
For spellcaster

You were unbowed, surprisingly proud
Despite all that helping from Treguard to dispel a SHROUD
Now Cedric won't trade, his day'll be made
'Cause you had a SHOVEL but kept trying to spellcast SPADE

And when you found the wellway, did we hear someone say
"Neil, say 'Stalactite'... Agh!"
And now that you've lost the game, you've got to be ashamed
Of spellcaster

And when you find the wellway, will we hear someone say
"We just haven't got a clue what to do!"
To make it a decent quest, there's got to be a test
For spellcaster

Thanks, Martin. Blockbuster has the kind of vocals that you can have fun with on karaoke.
