KM Bonfire song/poem
Okies, those of you that have been here a while or have read a lot of the other threads may know of the "12 Knightmare Days of Christmas" (http://www.talkknightmare.co.uk/forum/y ... 36;start=0). We shall do another Christmas song closer to the time, but in the meantime we should try and make a KM Bonfire poem
Silly as it may sound it can be quite fun - if each person posts a new line each time by copying and pasting the rest of the poem and then making their addition...we'll see what we come out with! It can be anything you like so long as it fits in with the KM theme most of the time, though there doesn't have to be something KMish in every line cos that would be difficult. If it catches on, aim for 20 lines? First line:
On the fifth of November

Re: KM Bonfire song/poem
(I think that last line might scan a little better if the word 'very' were removed. But I suppose it's up to the next poet...)

Re: KM Bonfire song/poem
I was hoping that my line ending in 'hobbling' might induce a rhyming 4th line ending in 'goblin'! It won't work as well being the 5th line, but I'll try it anyway:
On the fifth of November
I saw a Guy hobbling
He was drag-ing a large sack
He emptied it out
Out tumbled a goblin
I have an idea about what the goblin and the 'Guy' have been doing, but I'll hold it back for now...

(Oops! Sorry! Ok scrap my line and put yours in with something more fittin - I'll take the fifth line instead. The rhyming will set out a better layout for everyone too!)

(OK. Thanks.)

Re: KM Bonfire song/poem
Erm, so as not to leave a loose end, does anyone mind if I finish this off?
On the fifth of November
I saw a Guy hobbling
And dragging a large sack
Containing a goblin
I knew this because
The sack had got torn
By the creature inside
As he blew on his horn
I looked at the Guy
And without invitation
I asked him just why
There was this situation
"Because," said the Guy
At first softly, then louder
"I found this foul fiend
With a heap of gunpowder
Planning to blow up
The Dungeon. I fought him;
A bruise and an ankle-bite
Later, I caught him."
"So he got the sack!"
I declared with some breeziness
"For being a goblin
Who tried to be treasonous!"
"No," said Lord Fear
"He's now under my wing
So I can ensure
He succeeds with the thing!"
I wondered if maybe
I shouldn't have asked
That was until Lord Fear
Had lifted his mask
It was Pickle in costume
A devious liar!
We went off to light up
A goblin bonfire!
Coming soon... Knightmare haikus? ;)
