Re: True or False trivia question

Thanks, Brett. Even if the crumbling bridge had been in Series 3 and 4, I'm not sure it would have fitted your statement, which also referred to Series 5. Beyond graphics, that also applies to the revolving disc which served as the spindizzy in Series 3 and the Place of Choice roundabout in Series 4...

Re: Series 3 - Episode 14

The pace and variety of Series 3 is well demonstrated in this episode. In just over three minutes we get a ghost, an armoured swordsman, a catacombite, a floating skull (Knightmare's best "hurry-up" scene?) and an oracle. Martin picks up a pineapple followed by cheese and then bread. He's well on th...

Re: Corbiss the Bemuser

Corbiss the Bemuser has been inspired by a performance from his favourite troupe of troubadours, the Absurd Lute Boys. As a show of power, he tries to banish the white from his hair. But despite having Hordriss as a brother, he can't seem to turn his barnet red. Even using a handheld staff to focus ...

Parody of theme song from Cheers

Why Hordriss disappears to the tavern from time to time. Treguard too. Based on the theme song from Cheers a.k.a. Where Everybody Knows Your Name (recorded by Gary Portnoy in 1982). Original lyrics Making your mark in the caverns dark Takes everything you've got Taking a break from being summoned Su...

Re: New The Crystal Maze

The Channel 4 website is calling it Series 3... I enjoyed the Jazzy Jury episode as much as I've enjoyed any of the original episodes. A good mix of triumph and disaster in the games; a team that took it seriously; Richard Ayoade getting the balance right and complementing the team and the maze rath...

Re: Knightmare On DVD?

Yes, I am the original "Leggy1210" that posted the weekly episodes way back when, as well as the other other Challenge TV clips. I'm really surprised the Knightmare community hasn't yet come together to fund a DVD release of one of the most amazing cult TV shows! What are we waiting for?! Good to s...

Re: True or False trivia question

Hi, Brett. The back wall of the blue Level 1 clue room in Series 1-3 looks markedly similar to the back wall of the block and tackle in Series 4 and Aesandre's final encounter room in Series 5. I'd say true.

Re: Corbiss the Bemuser

Corbiss the Bemuser has spent an evening with elves. But it was a rogue group known as Elfire, distrusted for their denouncement of other elvish people as non-elves and their assertion that Elvandis should be "ironed out". Corbiss can't see what all the fuss is about. They even let him wear his hat....

Re: Corbiss the Bemuser

In Series 3, a gargoyle asked a dungeoneer: "On Salisbury Plain long years ago Men raised a ring of standing stones Stonehenge it's called, but where is found The largest ring on English ground?" According to legend, the men got hungry after raising the stones but didn't know what to do about it - s...

Re: Series 5 Team 3: GHOST spell

Early in Series 5, the Corridor of Blades was still a relatively new obstacle. It would have undermined it to introduce the idea of a spell being necessary (or even merely helpful) to survive it. As a watcher, I'd have been unimpressed to see a dungeoneer standing in this tense and deadly location, ...

Re: Series 5 Team 3: GHOST spell

The team would have had to discuss the GHOST spell, convince themselves that it would help them against the blades, agree that they shouldn't save it for later and then go through the process of spellcasting it - all while guiding Sarah away from the oncoming blades. As we know, they weren't the qui...

Parody of Atmosphere by Russ Abbot

Based on Atmosphere by Russ Abbot (1984). Original lyrics Oh what a dungeoneer I said "Ooh nasty" to a hapless dungeoneer And he's no longer there 'Cause I dismissed him from the dungeon of Knightmare Well we're at the dungeon party And you're out there on a quest With your three friends here to gui...

Re: Corbiss the Bemuser

Corbiss the Bemuser is confronted at his allotment by the Norman inquisitor André Cauchemarr. There are awkward questions about when Corbiss stopped accepting gold from the Opposition to appear in its spyglass communications channel, known as Fear One. Corbiss responds by planting dragon's teeth and...

Re: Radio Times 'top children's programmes of all time'

I've edited my earlier post once more to include results from Classic KidsTV's 50 Greatest Kids' TV Shows vote, released a couple of days ago. Whereas Radio Times had 30 pre-selected voters with five nominations each, Classic KidsTV was open to all Twitter users and invited 10 nominations each. The ...

Re: Radio Times 'top children's programmes of all time'

I've edited my previous post to show where each show came in Channel 4's The 100 Greatest Kids' TV Shows (2001), if anywhere. The shows were selected by Channel 4 but the public voted for them; Knightmare beat Blue Peter by 15 places. Pat Sharp doesn't seem the type to hold or provoke any rivalries....
