For those interested, here is an insight into my game project, which I've included as part of my ongoing series of vlogumentaries on YouTube.

Re: Pseudo-3D Knightmare Game- A Work in Progress

Blender is certainly not for the casual have-a-go 3D modeller...
I can't speak for Unity just yet, as I'm using ClickTeam Fusion 2.5 as the engine for this game.
Still a long way to go before it's perfect, but we'll get there in time!

Re: Pseudo-3D Knightmare Game- A Work in Progress

Ah yes- I did think of that- we can always do things the Series 8 way and chuck a fireball in for blatant guaranteed death! Progress is good- not quite as quick as I'd hoped, but it's progress, although the horn of full time employment beckons from the horizon, which is going to slow things down a b...

Re: Pseudo-3D Knightmare Game- A Work in Progress

I have already uploaded a demo of the infamous Corridor of Blades to YouTube here: https://youtu.be/t7xWBO3V514 However, I think I can do better than that- wait until you see the revised graphics... In case you're wondering how on earth I can get a third dimension on a 2D engine, I can tell you ther...

Re: Pseudo-3D Knightmare Game- A Work in Progress

I intend to recreate material from throughout the majority of series 1-8, depending on the source material available, how easy it is to incorporate into the game, how much time I have, etc. Igneous makes an appearance: Igneous Room.jpg Hopefully Brangwen will too! So far, I've got a system set up wi...

Pseudo-3D Knightmare Game- A Work in Progress

I thought I'd start a new thread documenting my progress on a development which I originally conceived in 2006, when I made a 2D Knightmare PC game. Many of you Knightmare Stalwarts will remember it being hosted on Turaja_Nuju's website and I do believe I distributed hard copies on CD-ROM to some of...

Trial by Spikes- A Game Programmer's Knightmare..?

As some of you already know, I've been getting back into creating some form of interactive Knightmare game, but as my journey progresses, things are never as simple as they first appear. Aside from the reconstruction of the various rooms and puzzles featured throughout the show, there is also the ta...

Re: Exploring the world of Knightmare with Oculus Rift

So, I've started drawing up 3D models for the game's non-player characters. This is a steep learning curve for me- from sculpting faces, rigging clothes and getting used to software which I've never had to use before (Blender 2.8) I've been working on Elita, Gwendoline (see other post) and now Hordr...

Re: Fun and Games visiting Real-Life Knightmare Locations

Yes, the causeway room was a deliberate choice! One of these days I'll get round to Dragon Hall, but it's not freely accessible because a writers' club occupy it full time now, I believe. I do have this sort-of plan to make some sort of video documenting some of the Knightmare locations. I did appro...

Re: Re:Download Knightmare Game Here!

Ok. A little more progress getting used to this Blender lark slowly... Elita is now joined by a Gwendoline (her belts will need a more three-dimensional rework, plus her weapon holsters) Gwendoline1.jpg I've also started on a Hordriss, whose hair I've had to sculp completely from scratch, as it's qu...

Re: Re:Download Knightmare Game Here!

Thanks for your encouragement. I've still got many obstacles to overcome before I can make this into anything remotely useful. Animating the characters is going to be a huge chore. After experimenting with superimposing characters from video footage of Knightmare episodes, with unsatisfactory result...

Fun and Games visiting Real-Life Knightmare Locations

I'm fortunate to live within the vicinity of some of the historic locations used in Knightmare (S4 onwards)- namely Castle Acre and Castle Rising. I couldn't resist having some fun last year and came across a couple of pookas and a causeway on my travels... Chris Pooka1.jpg Pooka at Castle Acre Prio...
