The mindless mechanical warrior bears down on the cornered dungeoneer, raises its morning star, poised to strike...

The wall comes crashing down and an articulated lorry smashes through into the chamber. The cab transforms into a giant robot, who thunders, "Automata! Transform and walk out!"

At the end of the final episode, instead of the usual threats and insults between the Powers That Be and the Opposition, the lights of the antechamber dim and a spotlight falls on Treguard. He's joined on either side by Lord Fear and Hordriss, and they perform a movingly harmoic rendition of Que Sera Sera.

After the scene is filmed, John Woodnutt appears in full Merlin costume from behind the camera, applauding: "Yes, I was right, that scene was much better without me in it."
"Sometimes of the Grey, but always of the Green, dearie. Shurrup Brollachan! Have you seen Festus, my dear? I need to take him back to Cornwall. " [cackle]

Perhaps after s8 Lord Fear went into hiding in a tiny hole in the sewers of Goth and grew a beard...

Darth Vader stands in the antechamber. He gestures to the door.
"Enter, stranger."
New dungeoneer walks in.
"Name yourself."
"Luke Dungeonwalker."
"The Life Force Clock is with you, young Dungeonwalker... but you are not a dungeoneer yet..."

I love this Star Wars crossover we've got going, how about Boba Fett with Snapper the puppet as a bounty fool hunter.

WitchHaven being turned into a WitchHaven Holiday Park, so the witches can make ends meet.

Series 4 has ended. Merlin is busy, decorating a huge Christmas tree that he has installed in the antechamber. He hums to himself, pleased that he has sent the last Team of the series "home for Christmas".

But the Christmas tree fairy can't stand it. She swoops down and attacks Merlin. Soon, his beard is a tangle of short-circuiting Christmas tree lights. Praised for her efforts, she is given a role in Series 5. Her name is Pixel.

(OK, my anti-Merlin vibe is still strong...)

Giles from Series 4 comes downstairs on Christmas morning 1990, to find the two presents he most wanted, waiting under the tree: a Frightknight trophy with a note saying 'Go on, you earned it!'; and Merlin's head. Gift-wrapped. It plays a tinny version of 'Driving Home For Christmas' by Chris Rea when you pull the beard.
