The Dunshelm Players: The Techo-Colour Tales: Green

I'm about to start work on writing the scripts for a short series of vignettes set in the FFR continuity. I'm hoping to be able to mix the first of these at some point before the summer, but as ever I will need volunteers to record the dialogue. The three characters who are to appear in it (at the moment) are Gwendoline the Green Warden, Oakley the Tree Troll, and King Henry III.

I can probably play Oakley myself (with my aaahhhk-sent it would make sense), but would anybody else be interested in taking part? It will be record-from-home again.

Hmm...would you need a high quality microphone?

That's preferable, but I can probably provide a decent one quite cheaply if the user is stuck for one. The standard one we use is a simple desktop dynamic model made by a company called Texet. Only costs a couple of quid, but gives good, clear sound quality.

Hmm...I might be able to find a good microphone. But then again I guess my voice range wouldn't be very good (since I'm still 13).

No harm in trying though, if you're interested. Remember, there's no rule with us that you have to replicate the on-screen character, you should just portray her the way you feel is right.

If you have a mic of any kind already, even lo-qual, you can audition by just recording a few of Gwendoline's lines from the series. You can then e-mail the recordings to me and I'll consider them.

Here's a good scene to audition from, from 3:35 in; -

The worst that can happen is I say no. And the best that can happen is you get a credit on your CV that you're an experienced audio actress, and KM fans will be queuing up for your autograph.

(DISCLAIMER: That last bit about autographs is not all that likely.)

Okay, I'm happy to announce that ye-young-shady-one has passed her audition and is now cast as Gwendoline the Green Warden (subject to her being happy with the script once it's written, obviously).

Okay, the first draft of the first vignette has been written, and here's how the cast is shaping up...

Gwendoline.........Amy Davies
Henry III/John.....Jake Collins
Lissard............Ross Thompson
Lord Fear..........Martin Odoni

We still have two roles available. One is Oakley (although as I said above, I can do that one myself if necessary - oi definetttleee have the royt voice ferrrrr ett), and the other is a very brief cameo playing a tree-feller. Again, we can probably get someone to double-up for that one.

Okay, ladies, gentlemen, & Dark_Comet, this week begins the aforementioned series of mini-plays; a continuing run of vignettes going under the collective banner of The Techno-Colour Tales.

http://dunshelmplayers.wordpress.com/dr ... our-tales/

Part one, called Green will go live from Tuesday/Wednesday. Here is the confirmed cast; -

Gwendoline.........Amy Davies
Henry III/John.....Jake Collins
Lissard/Tree feller....Ross Thompson
Lord Fear/Oakley.......Martin Odoni

The script of part two, called Grey, is already being drafted. I have a very tentative hope that we might be able to launch it in time for the 25th anniversary, although that is not at all likely.

Casting will begin for it this week though, so if you're interested in getting involved, please speak now or forever hold your piece. (Deliberate typo.) The characters who are confirmed to feature in Grey so far are; -

Treguard (-)
Lord Fear (-)
Majida
Stiletta
Pickle (-)
Greystagg
Lissard (-)
Skarkill (-)
Heggatty
Maldame

Possibly one or two others will be added later (most likely Hordriss), depending on how the script pans out. As you can see, it's quite a long list for a vignette.

(-) means the part is probably already assigned to a player who has performed the same role previously, for continuity reasons. However, no casting is as yet set in stone, as no proper discussions have been held with anybody as yet. Basically, if you're interested in playing *any* of the above roles, let me know ASAP.

Green is now ready for download at...

There are a few patches of distortion on some of the voice recordings, but by and large it's come out well. Look out in particular for a very promising debut from ye young Shadey one in the role of Gwendoline.

Please post any feedback you might have either in this thread or in the 'Leave a reply' section on the blogpage itself.

Work on the second tale in the series, Grey, is already under way. As mentioned above, please let me know soon if you're interested in taking part.
