The Hunger Games

Post by shadow6162 »

I watched the premiere in New Brighton last night. It was a bit rushed but I loved it!!! I recommend reading the book before seeing the film though because I had to give my little cousin a running commentary whilst we were watching it XDDD
Many years ago I wrote fanfictions. Now I attempt to write sanely.

I've just finished reading the first book. I can understand why a film version could be a bit rushed - there's a lot to pack in, Katniss' own thoughts throughout notwithstanding.

Have to say I loved the book though - one of the best things I've read this year so far. Couldn't put it down. I wasn't particularly satisfied by the ending (it leaves things a bit unresolved), but it's a trilogy, I guess. A friend of mine told me that the next two books aren't very good, but I may pick them up if I can at some point in the future.

Wouldn't have read it if you hadn't started this thread, Amy, so thank you for that!
