Virtually Impossible was a very good idea, but the technology at the time was too primitive to carry it off properly. With today's technology it might work.

Yeah, with Virtually Impossible today's technology would advance it, maybe full VR so the Ranger could see around them, still with advisors though, that'd be more like a computer game...

Malefact sir, I had completely forgotton about "Screens up!" I remember, that in addition to the fish (what was its name?), there were a few actors interspersed Knightmare style into the footage (ie in the pinball game). Were any of these people who had appeared in Knightmare? Broadsword do strike me as a company who stick to their favourites (ie David Learner was in "the Satellite Game" before Knightmare; which I have never seen).
Oh look there's J.G. Ballard in a burnt-out fridge with a spitfire pilot.

I don't think there were any ex-Km people in VI. I think that was its undoing!!  ;D ;)

I believe, though, that Tim Child would like to have Hugo Myatt and Mark Knight in the new series, although he's having a job trying to track MK down.

I'd love to see ALL the old actors coming back. Some of the old characters could make permanent comebacks (Treguard, Lord Fear, Motley, Sylvester Hands, Hordriss etc.) and the others could make cameo appearances. Heavy on the nostaligia, I know, but I love nostalgia!

Very true.

With this brilliant new technology, there could be all sorts of monsters that move and adapt intelligently to the dungeoneer's actions, as opposed to a bit of filmed footage.

For example, an avatar Ariadne, Catacombite, Scorpian, Snake, plus armies of goblins marching away in the background (the last one would be good for level 3).

I've always reckoned that the worst Knightmare special effect was when Ariadne webbed dungeoneers in - it always did look a bit false, even when I was little.
Also, don't forgot the atrocious special effect bolt things that some of the characters used to shoot. Watching Series 3 again and Velda shooting things with completely unbelievable animated missiles made me cringe, although that could also be down to Velda's hideous overacting in parts.

The corridor of blades could look fantastic since you could see the dungeoneers from lots of different angles. Mogdred's magic swords and axes could be rendered much more effectively.

I'm sorry I keep posting things, but since I found this forum, I've become a bit addicted to it. I want to shed my Knewbie virginity! I want the full five stars - the Anglia Tv silver spurs! If anyone would ever consider making me some video copies of episodes get in touch - I'd pay them well! I am pretty new to the net and the Knightmare world online so I don't really know who to contact. I sometimes get the feeling when I come on he forum that everyone has copies and is a bit of an expert. My knowledge comes from hazy memories of the series and the excellent clips on this site rejogging them.

Oh, yes! The Corridor of Blades! Just about the NASTIEST thing ever to feature Km! Essential for the new series!

btw, I've got much more reason to apologise than you since I've now done 260+ posts! I want five stars, too!

GG:You can empathise with that, eh?  ;)

Don't be sorry! It's great to hear people's thoughts and opinions!

About there being KM "experts": there are certainly people who know a lot. But my personal view is that everyone who posts here has something to contribute. People have different recollections, different sources of information, different talents. Some people are knowledgeable, some analytical, some humorous, some creative. It all works, and the combination of such different people is what makes it a community. And it's a community where all are welcome. :)

Is nobody of beard-growing age? Will nobody take me up on my quest to grow a beard just like Hugo Myatt's?

Commiserations! I can't think of all that many celebrities with blonde beards. In the black beard corner, well you've got Brian Blessed, the Master off Doctor Who ... the list goes on and on. You could always dye it I suppose. Isn't there some KM role-playing group somewhere on the net. I sincerely hope that their Treguard sports a beard, or there will be no end of trouble. Didn't Ah-Wok have facuial hair as well?

I hope that they will get the rights for a DVD release.  Since there hasn't been good luck getting it on TV the last couple of years, DVD is the next best thing.  A lot of the quests in Knightmare would look great on DVD.  So would special features.
