Majida
Ah Wok

Nah Ah Wok was a humourous part of Knightmare. It was better than listening to Julius Scaramonger all the time.

I think all the characters were brilliant to be honest...

Ah Wok was cr@p man, he took the ancient british spirit out of the program (now he reminds me of Ting Tong from little Britain with that fake taiwanie accent).

Scaramonger was alright.
He did babble and waste valuable quest time but I do love a Brummie accent... occasionally!
(geordies better)

but Majida.....
What a waste of time!
That yabba-yabba at the start of the series (was on today actually!) did my head in and Pickle was more of a help- at least you could understand him!

I think storm gueists were a bit badly designed (looked a bit odd and un-skull like) but they did replace the good old haunting and gave pooka a bit of a side-kick!

Have to dissagree with you there djoska.

Ah Wok wasn't the first none english character in KM that was Olaf The Vikeing from Series 2-3.

And Fatilla in Series 4 was supposedly a Hun so he wasn't a Bristish character either.

Djoska didn't say that Ah Wok was the first non-English character, although I also disagree that he destroyed the 'spirit of the show'. There were plenty of traders from abroad in Britain during the era. Oriental ones were unlikely, to be fair, but not impossible, and there were plenty of more serious anachronisms in the series than him.

Before I'd seen series 6 (which I finally managed at the end of 2004 or there abouts, aged 25) I'd seem the Stormgeists on the KM website, and I figured they would shoot across the screen like the Lost Souls from Doom. But, instead, they floated pathetically and didn't have anywhere near the menace that the skulls had.

Then again, I saw the skulls first time round. That probably had something of an impact.

And the series 4/5 pookas were a lot nastier than the series 6/7 versions.

They were nastier weren't they?
Now they look really dated- which makes it even worse!

Anyway,

All the characters like Olaf, Ridolfo, and the like were good because they seemed to fit in better.

I just didn't like Ah Wok and the music that accompanied.
East Asians and Pre-Medieval Britain- mmm.
That's why I thought Majida didn't fit in. But she wasn't too helpful!!

Why did Treguard even need a sidekick?
He could be more powerful and scary on his own.
(Where did I read a post someone wrote where this person thought he looked like someone from the sex offenders list...?)

And what about the troll in the early series'
...I'm a troll, I'm a troll, roll-de-roll, rol-de-roll,
this songs a load of TOSH!

He wasn't very scary was he? And how would he have killed someone unless they fell of the ledge?

Didn't Guy Standeven play all the "Larger" characters back then?

I'm fairly sure he was the troll, but I couldn't tell you about the giant.

I was thinking of the giant in the pit, with the moustache, eating a large chicken leg (from a giant chicken?) You couldn't see his feet.

Possibly, but not definitely, from series 1.

I never liked Gwendoline the Greenwarden.

The one Knightmare charachter that I actually don't think had any realism to them.

At least you could believe Hordriss was a Mage, or Lord Fear was a bad guy, but Gwendoline just didn't work for me...

gwennie was just a shouty person who got in the way of all quests.

Got used to her after a while but didnt like her to start with.

Gwendolen was a tad too....bland, exept for the "tall elder brother bit"
Gretel also got on my nerve, specially her laughing. Scary, but when I'm relaxed I laugh just like her...
