The Foreign Knightmare Formats

I think that any DVD release should at least show us some of the french and spanish versions of knightmare if not a whole series. Has anyone actually seen any of these series?

Naaa! I got four!  ;D

Ahem! I agree it would be very good to see some clips or an episode or two of the foreign ones - as long as they have subtitles!

So: series 1 can fit onto one disc. A bonus disc can have:

The two pilots
The Chromakey experiment
Interviews
Deleted scenes
...plus some foreign-format episodes.

I must say that it would be a HUGE draw for us fans to have all that.

Can you imagine a German version? That would be great:

"Ja, im Seriesen Vier hat der Advisor das Simon "Sidestrafen links" geguidet, und der Dungeoneer hat plummeten den Tackelblöck hinunter. Was für ein Prat."

Does anybody know exactly how popular the foreign versions of Knightmare were in the countries they were shown in? How many series did they run for?

I don't think they were very popular judging by how long they lasted. I think there was only one series of the french and spanish versions.

I have more info about both shows and will put more info on the site eventually. There is already some info about the french version at http://www.knightmare.v-2-1.net/reviews/labyrinthe/

It's like when they tried to do an American remake of Dad's Army. In the best tradition of American humour, their version of "Don't tell him, Pike!" went down like a stone vulture!

Naja hier im fernsehserie vier hab' wir sehen der muschi Simon noch links von seiteschripp in der loch hirunter bei Block-tackle! Och - und so dumm bist, der Advisors plappst viel zu viel..."

Though I doubt the language would be that coarse lol...

Translation please - I don't speak German - everyone else on this forum seems to do - including a man who's supposedly a fan of chinese culture.

Nicht erhielten Sie irgendwelche? ;)

That wasn't real German - more just cod-German. I did learn the language for four years, with the result that I can read and understand it (well, most of it) but I find it difficult to actually form sentences or speak it for myself.

As far as Chinese goes, the only thing I can say in that language is "I am having a heart attack" ("Wo jue-de bu shu-fu" is the rough pronunciation). I can also write one word of Japanese, but I'm not sure what it means so that's a bit dodgy.
